For our visitors from Austin, please note that Penticton Airport (YYF) is quite small and has limited flights arriving in town from convenient connections for your trip. You have several options available to you. Typically Margot and I will fly the shortest duration trip from Austin to Kelowna Airport (YLW) and will then rent a car from the airport and drive (1.25 hours) to Penticton. There are many taxi/bus options from Kelowna to Penticton as well. If you are coming into Kelowna with another group, renting a car together may be the best option for you. For direct flights into Penticton, convenient single-booked trips are unlikely to be available but flight availability and options are changing constantly so please check if direct to Penticton is available at your time of booking. One potential flight option from Austin to Penticton requires you to book two separate trips: first, flying with Air Canada (AC1067) from Austin direct to Vancouver and second, flying with Pacific Coastal Airlines (8P 1307). If you have not visited Canada before, booking these routes with a few days stop over in Vancouver to visit is a great idea! In the past, we have been able to fly Austin to Calgary direct and from Calgary to Penticton direct, but as of December 2024, the Austin to Calgary route is no longer available.

For our visitors from Toronto, please note that Penticton Airport (YYF) is quite small and has limited flights arriving in town from convenient connections for your trip. You have several options available to you. Typically the shortest duration trip from Toronto to Penticton is via direct flight Toronto to Kelowna (YLW) and then renting a car and driving from the Kelowna airport to Penticton (1.25 hrs). There is an option to fly direct to Vancouver, then book a separate ticket with Pacific Coastal or Air North from Vancouver to Penticton. This likely will require an overnight in Vancouver so if you would like to visit the city for a day or two before coming to Penticton, this option may work well for you.

Best options from Europe will land you in Kelowna (YLW) airport. From there, booking a taxi or renting a car and making the 1.25 hour drive is the best option for you. You also have the option to land in Vancouver, spend a short time visiting the city there, then booking a short range flight with either North Air or Pacific Coastal to fly direct from Vancouver to Penticton. This option avoids the requirement to rent a car or take an expensive, long taxi from Kelowna to Penticton.
