Question

What do I need for travel documents?

Answer

Passport, ID, & ETIAS Visa verification

Question

Where is the venue?

Answer

Our venue Château de Robernier, also known as Château D’argent, is located about hour and a half away from Nice, Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Marseille. The closest town to the venue is Cotignac, located 8 minutes down the road. Please see Travel section for hotel recommendations.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

There is very little to no local transportation in Cotignac (ie. taxis or Uber), our recommendation is renting a car and driving to the venue directly. The venue has ample parking available.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding dress code is Garden Cocktail Formal. What does that mean? Our ceremony and reception will both be outside in the beautiful garden/courtyard areas of the Château. Think florals, end of Spring beginning of Summer colors; while also keeping a more formal appearance for both the men and women. Men should be in suits and ties. Jacket preferred. Women should be in tea length to floor length dresses. Overall the goal is to be elegant and comfortable!

Question

What is the weather supposed to be like?

Answer

Our wedding will be fully outside, and our venue while in the South of France is nestled into the mountains of Provence. This means you can expect weather to be between 65 and 75 degrees and sunny. Perfect for a wedding!

Question

Passport: What do you need to know?

Answer

Ensure your passport is not expired or expiring within 6 months of the travel dates. If you need to renew your passport before your trip, we recommend doing so 4-6 months in advance, and paying to expedite as well. You don’t want to mess around with a possible delay on processing such an important document!

Question

How to obtain your VISA/ETIAS

Answer

More information to come. Starting in 2024, all US citizens traveling to the EU require a Visa. The cost is approximately $8 and filling out the application is easy and fully electronic, and should take no longer than 20 minutes. We recommend doing this application at least 3 months in advance.

Question

How do I know what to tip?

Answer

In most of Europe, tipping is minimal. The price you see is the price you pay. If you feel so inclined, you might leave whatever change you have leftover from the meal but typically 1-3 € is more than sufficient for your average meal.

Question

When should I book my flights & plan to arrive?

Answer

It’s recommended to purchase flight tickets anywhere from 6 months to 1 year in advance. We recommend to avoid any travel delays or issues that you arrive in Europe at least 2 days prior to the wedding. Note that our wedding is on a Wednesday, so it is our recommendation to fly into Europe the weekend leading up to it! Please see our travel itinerary guides and recommendations for those making this trip into a vacation (which we highly recommend!). Traveling between cities and countries within Europe is quite easy and relatively inexpensive. The closest airport to our venue to fly into will be Nice, France. Credible airlines include: Air France - who is a partner of Delta British Airways - who is a partner of United In between countries in Europe: Easy Jet, Ryan Air

Question

How long is the flight from the US to France?

Answer

A typical flight from the East Coast of the United States to Paris is roughly 9-10 hours. It is recommended for all international flights to arrive to your airport 3 hours in advance. Keep in mind your return flight home is typically an additional 1-2 hours longer.

Question

What is the best method of transportation in Europe?

Answer

It depends! If you are traveling within a city, public transportation like a bus or metro pass might be best. Or Taxis are super popular in all major cities. Between cities, we recommend plane. You can get to many places in under 2 hours for rather cheap.

Question

Is it safe there?

Answer

No city is completely safe! Make sure to use caution when traveling and be aware of your surroundings. Tips to avoid common issues like pic pocketing: bring a cross body/ belt bag and keep it close to your person, nothing in your pockets, nothing in your hand unless actively using it, do not leave phones on table while eating, keep jewelry minimal. Avoid interacting with any street beggars, however you might see some street performers such as musicians- feel free to stop by and enjoy their craft and throw them a tip if you like
