A classic love story, that started as those in the 21st century do, we met online on a little app called Hinge. Spencer was in town from Atlanta visiting his family for the holidays, and Margaux was just looking and searching “for the one”. Both of us were going a bit outside our comfort zone and trying something new by swiping right on each other, we were a bit apprehensive but hopeful it would go well. We decided our first date should be casual and easy so we went for drinks and apps at a local Mexican bar, dressed in our Lululemon athleisure apparel that somewhat matched. Turns out we had a lot more in common than expected and talked each others ears off until the place closed. Neither of us were ready for the date to end quite yet so we walked down to another bar that was open later, had another drink and continued talking until that one closed. When the night was done we both went our separate ways and texted one another that this night had been the best date we have been on in a while. Since Spencer’s time was limited we packed in 3 more dates that week before his return to Atlanta, then one more about a month later when we decided to meet up in Savannah with our dogs for a night. 2 months later Spencer got a job and moved down to Orlando to be closer to Margaux, I mean, his family! Going on a few more dates and talking practically every day, Margaux decided on June 4th, 2021 that she didn’t want to just keep going on dates but wanted to be Spencer’s girlfriend. So one night at Disney Springs after a date, Margaux got the courage to ask Spencer to be her boyfriend, to which he said “I have to think about it”. Good thing Spencer didn’t have to think longer than the 30 minute car ride home, because that was awkward! Finally, Spencer told Margaux “yes” and that he wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend, and the rest is well, history! We went on many vacations together, with each others families as well, spent holidays birthdays and weekends together going to farmer’s markets and Disney, and fell in love. We are so excited to now share our love story with all of our closest family and friends! See you in France!
Paris, France. The city of love, and now the city that will forever be remembered as the place we got engaged as well. Spencer had planned a photography session for day 3 of our trip to Europe, at 8 AM near the Eiffel Tower. Outfits planned perfectly, hair done, both of us looking as good as 2 folks who have been traveling and walking 25,000 steps a day for 2 days could look. We took a few photos together when the Photographer, Rachel, asked Margaux to take some solo pics. To which Margaux pushed back but ultimately allowed a few. Rachel had Margaux do one pose, then another where her back would be turned to the camera, after waiting for what seemed like a very long 2 minutes, Margaux asked if she could be done and turn around. Which is exactly when she heard Spencer near her, say her name. Upon turning around there Spencer was, on one knee with tears filling in his eyes and a beautiful ring in his hand. After wiping away the tears and Margaux repeatedly saying “it’s okay don’t cry”. Spencer finally was able to get out those 4 important words, the one most important question, “will you marry me?”, he asked. “Yes!” Margaux said with a huge smile on her face as she bent down to hug and kiss him!
