Edinburgh City Tours

Peter's incredible cousin Hannah is a professional tour guide in Edinburgh. She will be offering a few 75 minute tours during the day on Thursday. The itinerary: get a view of Edinburgh Castle from the Grassmarket, up Victoria Street to the Royal Mile, step into a close, stop outside St Giles Cathedral, passing by the National Museum, then come back down to the Grassmarket through Greyfriars Kirkyard. Hopefully that'll give a good orientation without needing to walk too far in a short amount of time! It will include some slopes (unavoidable in Edinburgh unfortunately!) and maybe a staircase (~30 steps). Lunch and Explore

12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Bring comfy walking shoes, and maybe a bathing suit.

Our venue, Penicuik Estate, has over 20 square miles of wilderness land to explore! Join us for an afternoon of hiking, swimming, eating, games and a falconry show. Parking available at Penicuik House. The gates will open automatically for you. Continue all the way down the drive until you reach the ruins of Old Penicuik House. From there, take the gravel track to the right and pass through the green gates. Lunches will be available at noon to pick up. Margaux will have Highland Games set up at the High Pond, come ready to compete! Peter will be leading an hour long, 2.5 mile, hike through the property, planning to leave Penicuik House at noon and will eat lunch during the falconry show! Wedding Ceremony

4:30 pm - 5:00 pm

We kindly request that you dress in garden party formal- suits (tux optional) and long or midi dresses, color and creativity encouraged!

Please plan to arrive by 4:15pm, ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30pm. Parking available at Penicuik House. The gates will open automatically for you. Continue all the way down the drive until you reach the ruins of Old Penicuik House. From there, take the gravel track to the right and pass through the green gates. The wedding ceremony will be outside, with the reception under a tent; please be mindful of stilettos in grass. Edinburgh in June can be chilly, so we recommend bringing layers. Fingers crossed there will be sunshine for our ceremony, but in case of rain we will be under the tent for the whole evening.
