Travel Note
Our reception will be held at Cane and Table, a restaurant in the French Quarter. We would recommend staying in the Central Business District, Lower Garden District, Marigny, and Bayou St. John areas. Please keep reading for hotel suggestions and our hotel block information. Airbnb We know that Airbnb is a popular and common way to find unique places to stay in new cities, and we also love using it! However, New Orleans doesn't have a great history with Airbnb, and as a result, there are many companies (and individuals) outside of Louisiana who have purchased large amounts of houses and converted them into short-term rentals, removing needed rentals from the housing market and displacing residents from their neighborhoods. Historically Black neighborhoods have been predominantly impacted by this. Airbnb continues to be an underregulated industry in the city, with many Airbnb's operating without appropriate licensure. If you choose to rent an Airbnb, please make sure the unit is properly licensed as a STR (short term rental). The listing should have a license number in the “About this Space” description— you may have to click “show more.” Please reach out to us if you have questions! We love New Orleans and want to make sure that out-of-town guests are patronizing local businesses.
