Nash and I met at Christchurch School on August 17, 2016 during preseason. We were going into our junior year of high school. Quickly after we met, Nash arranged for our moms to sign us up for the same in-car drivers ed course so we could see each other more, despite already having math and history class together. By mid October, October 15th to be exact, Nash asked me to be his girl. Fast forward through our time at CCS, 4 years of college, both of us graduating and finding jobs, we now live together in Richmond. In the spring of 2024 we adopted our first dog together, a Golden Retriever puppy named Cisco. Here we are 9 years later and getting married!
Nash proposed exactly 8 years to the day of our meeting! I was on an annual girls trip with my two best friends on the Outer Banks. Nash stayed behind in Richmond for a "guys golfing weekend." My friends and I were walking to dinner on the beach at sunset. As we were nearing the restaurant out pop Nash and Cisco from in between the dunes. I was so stunned and just started running towards him as I had a feeling something major was happening since Nash was on the beach, in a button down and khakis, and not back home in Richmond at The Grill with his friends. He delivered the most heartfelt and memorable proposal and got down on one knee. I will never forget this special moment. Once I stopped taking in the beautiful ring I looked up to see my parents and Nash's parents walking up the beach towards us with big smiles and champagne. It was a perfect plan to become engaged in one of our favorite places with more celebrating at my parents' beach cottage.
