FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, children are more than welcome to celebrate with us! We’ll have a quiet room set aside at the Kress Pavilion during the reception for little ones who need a break, a place to rest, or space for feeding and changing. Depending on RSVPs and interest we are also looking into a group nanny for parents who want to stay up past bedtime.

Question

What’s the rsvp deadline?

Answer

Please rsvp by June 1st. Thank you!

Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

Your presence is the greatest gift and we are so grateful to have you celebrating with us! If you would like to give something, we have a small registry with a honeymoon fund on our website.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors. The reception will be indoors.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our wedding dress code is formal/Black Tie Optional. Note that the ceremony will be in a pine tree grove on natural terrain, so plan on wedges, flats, or sandals over heels.

Question

Are photographs allowed?

Answer

We kindly ask that during the ceremony cell phones are silenced and put away. After the ceremony concludes please take as many photos as you like!

Question

What is the parking situation?

Answer

Whitefish Dunes State Park requires a daily admission sticker ($13 per Wisconsin vehicle, $16 for out of state plates). We recommend carpooling where possible. Day passes can be purchased at the park entrance. If you choose to purchase an annual state park pass you can take time to explore Peninsula and Newport State Parks as well. The ceremony location is just a short walk from the Whitefish Dunes parking lots. Please allow extra time for parking, as it may be busy on summer weekends. For those who would like to make an adventure of the ceremony, there is also free parking at nearby Cave Point County Park, with a scenic ~½ mile walk to the ceremony. Please note this is a natural trail and may take 15–20 minutes. The reception venue has a large on-site parking lot. Please note that overnight parking is not permitted. If you plan to walk to your hotel after the reception, we recommend leaving your car at your hotel and walking to the venue as we have an hour set aside for a laid back transition from ceremony to cocktail hour.
