3:30 pm - 4:15 pm
Formal (black tie optional) Please note that the ceremony is on natural terrain, so sandles, flats, or wedges may be preferred to heels. For our handfasting at Loch Ness, Margaret paired her white dress with hiking boots!
Our ceremony will be held at Whitefish Dunes State Park outside the picnic shelter. Please join us for welcome bubbly at 3:00 PM, with the ceremony beginning at 3:30. You can enter Whitefish Dunes State Park into your gps, and follow signs on Clark Lake Road or N Cave Point Drive. When you arrive at the park entrance, one of our party members will greet you and direct you where to go. State Park day passes will be available at the park office for ($13 for Wisconsin plates or $16 for out of state license plates.) We will be on the shore of Lake Michigan so it will be a little cooler than inland due to the lake effect and breeze, and our ceremony location is fully shaded. In case of rain, the ceremony will be inside the shelter. If you’re able, we recommend arriving early to explore this natural wonder! Take some time for a scenic mile walk to Cave Point County Park on a flat crushed gravel path, or scramble along the rocky cliffs above the crashing waves. Check out the Lake Michigan Blow Holes at Cave Point (stand back if it’s windy so you don’t get sprayed!). Kick off your shoes on the sandy beach of Whitefish Dunes!
