Frequently Asked Questions

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have booked a block for the wedding at the Beekman Hotel in Downtown Manhattan (additional information, including our room block discount code, can be found under the "Travel" section of this website). For alternative options, we generally recommend looking at Hotels in Downtown/Lower Manhattan, as these will be nearest to our wedding ceremony, and this area of the City is fairly accessible and has a wide array of transportation options available. Generally speaking, we do not recommend looking at hotels outside of Manhattan (including Brooklyn).

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes! We are registered at a few different stores. The easiest way to see our complete registry is to refer to the “Registry” tab on this website.

Question

What are the church's policies regarding masking and vaccinations against COVID-19?

Answer

At this time, our church does not require proof of vaccination or mask wearing. If you would like to read the most current information, please click here: https://trinitywallstreet.org/visit/safety-health We are glad to report that the rate of COVID-19 positivity in New York City has decreased. However, we still encourage our guests to take precautions to protect themselves and others. We recommend getting vaccinated and receiving booster shots, as well as wearing masks while using public transportation.

Question

What’s the best way to get around NYC?

Answer

Generally speaking we recommend using either the subway or car services (Ubers, Taxis, etc.) for transportation. For those with a general familiarity of NYC’s layout, or experience with other large metro systems, the Subway is likely a better option, as it is quick, inexpensive ($2.75 per ride) and efficient. Car services are a great option for those who aren’t as familiar with the city and/or don’t feel as comfortable taking the subway.

Question

How does the Subway work? Is it a safe option?

Answer

Generally speaking, the Subway is the quickest and most reliable way to get around the City, though the system can prove confusing for first time users. The fee for riding the subway is $2.75 per ride (irrespective of how far you go), so it's also the cheapest option to get around. Map: For those unfamiliar with the system, we recommend downloading the official NYC Subway app and taking a screenshot of the map for instances in which cell service is limited underground: https://new.mta.info/guides/apps Payment: There are now multiple ways to pay for the Subway. At this time, nearly all stations are equipped with contactless payment systems (OMNY) that allow for users to pay with their phones via services such as Apple Pay/Google Pay and/or wirelessly enabled credit cards. For most people, this is the easiest way to pay. Metro cards are also available for purchase via machines in most stations. Accessibility: Please note that not all subway stations are accessible (even those near tourist attractions). For those staying in Lower Manhattan, the Fulton Street station is accessible. In addition to this, the subway station closest to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (Eastern Parkway/Brooklyn Museum for the 2,3,4 trains) is also accessible. Safety: For the majority of riders, the Subway is an entirely safe mode of transportation most hours and in most of the neighborhoods/areas of the city that you're likely to visit. Generally speaking, we recommend that you keep personal items close by, purses at your front (rather than side) and expensive of flashy jewelry covered. Trust your judgement--if something or someone feels off, get off or get on another car at the next stop. While subway related crime has increased since 2020, it's worth noting that the chances of being the victim of a violent crime are still very low--roughly 1 in 1 million (https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/04/nyregion/new-york-subway-safety.html)

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our dress code for most guests is black tie optional (for men, a tuxedo or a dark jacket with a collared shirt; for women, a floor-length or cocktail dress). Those in the wedding party itself will be contacted separately regarding their specific dress code.
