We met in October 2020 on zoom for training before serving our Mandarin Chinese speaking missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That was a brief meeting, but we volunteered together for a year and a half before I went home in March 2022. Wyatt didn't waste any time reaching out to stay connected and sent me a message the day I left. We started officially dating when Wyatt flew out to visit me in Arkansas on July 13, 2022. We dated long distance for over two and a half years until January 2025, when I was able to move out to Maryland and finish my last semester of school online.
Over Christmas break, I flew out to spend time with Wyatt and his family, part of which was spent in New York City. Wyatt met me at the hotel when I got in. I thought we were going to a shopping center to eat some food and meet up with his family (I was STARVING), but when we got there, they weren't there. To bide some time, we went to a cute lookout spot, where we looked over the water and saw the lights of the Manhattan skyline. He said some sweet words, knelt down, and asked me to marry him! I forgot to say yes at first, so he had to ask, "so is that a yes?" And I of course said YES!
After the wedding, we will be going on a honeymoon...somewhere...Wyatt won't tell me haha. And then I have an accounting audit and assurance internship with Deloitte in Charlotte, NC. After that, Wyatt will begin training as he is serving in the United States Navy. We are SO EXCITED!
