In the summer of 2017, I headed to my grandparents' house at the Jersey Shore for a summer job. While there, I met a guy online named Thomas Fitzpatrick. We had a lot in common: we were both in the area for the summer, attended Towson University, were involved in Greek Life, and were about to move into the same apartment complex for the upcoming school year. While discussing our new living situations, Thomas briefly mentioned he'd be living with his friend, (not relative) Ryan Fitzpatrick. Fast forward to fall semester, we, along with our roommates, made plans to grab dinner together. The carpool plans involved a two-door Camaro, so when Ryan had to get out to move the seat up for me to get into the back, he says it was love at first sight! We quickly became and remained, close friends; he never anticipated I'd be interested! After a couple of subtle hints from the roommates, we finally got together, and the rest is history!

On a sunny Saturday afternoon in November, we headed off to a surprise lunch date at our old stomping grounds in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Upon arrival, Ryan suggested taking some pictures on the pier, a request very unlike him. After pictures, he slipped up and mentioned that he knew the surprise date would be worth it. Not registering what was going on, he finally dropped to one knee and popped the question! Immediately after the "YES," both of our families showed up to join us on the pier for a champagne toast. We spent the remainder of the day on the harbor taking pictures, going to lunch with everyone, and sharing the big announcement. I was so amazed that he was able to plan and pull off this surprise proposal!
