Is this a wedding?

Answer

We have chosen to keep our ceremony private. We want to celebrate our marriage with a day full of drinking good bourbon, losing money on horse races, and spending time with our family.

We are so grateful and blessed with what we already have. We are not asking for wedding gifts, as your presence is a gift enough. However, we will have private betting booths, so feel free to spend your money there!

When is food being served?

A buffet lunch will be served starting at 11:30 AM and will last 3 hours. An open bar will also be available starting at 11:30 AM and last call will be around 5:30pm.

Where do I park?

Parking in any Churchill Downs main lot is free. See more information in the link below: https://www.churchilldowns.com/come-to-the-track/visiting-information/travel-parking/ We will be located on the north side of the track, so we recommend the Green or Orange Lots on the parking map.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The following is the recommended dress code given by Churchill Downs on their website for the suites we will be renting. Keep in mind we will have both indoor and outdoor seating available throughout the event! Smart Casual Do's: Jackets and blazers optional. Vests, shirts with collars, sweaters, dresses, pantsuits, dress jeans, dress shorts and slacks are appropriate. Don'ts: Cargo shorts, t-shirts, crop or midriff tops, athletic wear, swim wear, frayed or torn denim or shorts, and tennis shoes are considered inappropriate attire.

Will there be a shuttle to Churchill Downs?

Answer

The hotel we have blocked rooms for does provide shuttle service to Churchill Downs; however, service to the airport is prioritised. Churchill Downs is a 7-minute drive away, and parking is free.

Our celebration will take place on the 4th floor at the Starting Gates Suite.

Are there going to be races?

Answer

Yes! There will be a full day of races along with a special Belmont Stakes watch party.

Question

How long is the event?

Answer

Gates open at 11:30AM and the first race starts at 12:45PM. The last live race is scheduled to start at 5:59PM. We've been told that the Belmont Stakes will be shown on the Big Board concluding live racing, but the start time for that race has yet to be announced. We believe it will be shown around 6:30PM. Guests are welcome to arrive and leave as they please.

Will there be a shuttle to the hotel from the airport?

We have been told that the hotel we are partnering with has a shuttle with service to and from the Louisville airport.
