We're getting married!

Marcy and Juan matched on a dating app called Bumble on May 18, 2021. While looking at Juan’s profile, she noticed his “About Me” section indicated he could make anyone laugh within 5 minutes. Marcy loves a man who can make her laugh, so she saw this as an opportunity to start up a conversation and it went like this: Marcy: You have 5min. Go! Juan: Did you hear about the new Covid vaccine? Marcy: No. Juan: It’s called The Juanson and Juanson. Marcy chuckled at the joke and although it wasn’t that funny, she decided to give the man a chance and see what other jokes he had up his sleeve. They had many things in common, but there were a few things they did not agree on. For instance, Marcy loves burritos and Juan loves tacos, Juan cheers for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Marcy cheers for the San Francisco Giants, and Juan wears Nike and Marcy wore Adidas (that has since changed). Despite their differences, they agreed to meet in-person and go on a date under one condition, they both wear ZARA outfits. Given that Juan had an upcoming birthday and Marcy had an upcoming girls trip to Miami, they did not meet until June 3, 2021. Marcy almost cancelled many times (8 times in fact) due to a nasty sunburn on her forehead. Juan kept reassuring her it was no big deal and convinced her to go after all. As Marcy got dropped off at El Gaucho steakhouse, Juan being a gentleman, waited for her outside. They walked up to each other and right before they embraced for a hug Juan looked at her forehead, joked, and said, “Yeah! You should have cancelled.” They laughed it off and went inside. They shared an amazing steak dinner followed by some strong cocktails and good laughs. Given the good time they shared, they decided to continue the night at a local bar. Not wanting to forget the night, they took their first picture together (with a Covid mask of course) and the rest is history!

Juan spent weeks collaborating on the perfect proposal with friends and family. Since Juan and Marcy's brother, Eddie, have birthdays in the month of May, they decided to tell Marcy they would be celebrating Eddie's birthday on May 21, 2022. Marcy was also told that it was a surprise birthday party for Juan. Given the number of family and friends expected to be in town that weekend, Marcy suspected an engagement. Consequently, she decided to get her nails done. On the afternoon of May 21, shortly before the proposal, Juan appeared as if he was not feeling well to buy some time. This delayed their departure to Los Potrillos, where everyone was anxiously waiting for their arrival. When they both walked inside the restaurant, they were greeted by their closest friends, family, and everyone's cell phone cameras. With all the excitement going around, Juan walked up to Marcy, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. They danced, celebrated, and shared some news that no one was anticipating: Marcy and Juan were expecting a baby in December 2022.

Our precious gift from heaven, Sofia Ramos, will receive the Sacrament of Holy Baptism during our wedding ceremony. We are honored to have Lucero Garcia Avila and Ceaser Avila present as her Godparents.

Marcy y Juan coincidieron en una aplicación de citas llamada Bumble el 18 de Mayo de 2021. Mientras miraba el perfil de Juan, notó que su sección "Acerca de Mí" indicaba que podía hacer reír a cualquiera en 5 minutos. Marcy ama a un hombre que puede hacerla reír, así que vio esto como una oportunidad para iniciar una conversación y fue así: Marcy: Tienes 5min. ¡Dale! Juan: ¿Te enteraste de la nueva vacuna contra el Covid? Marcy: No. Juan: Se llama El Juanson y Juanson. Marcy se rió de la broma y, aunque no fue tan chistosa, decidió darle una oportunidad y ver qué otras bromas tenía bajo la manga. Tenían muchas cosas en común, pero había algunas en las que no estaban de acuerdo. Por ejemplo, Juan ama los tacos y Marcy ama los burritos. Juan usa Nike y Marcy usaba Adidas. A pesar de sus diferencias, acordaron encontrarse en persona y tener una cita. Dado que Juan tenía un cumpleaños próximo y Marcy tenía un próximo viaje de chicas a Miami, no se conocieron hasta el 3 de Junio de 2021. Marcy casi cancelo muchas veces (8 veces de hecho) debido a una desagradable quemadura solar en la frente. Juan siguió asegurándole que no era gran cosa y la convenció de ir después de todo. Cuando llego Marcy al restaurante, Juan, siendo un caballero, la esperó afuera. Caminaron uno hacia el otro y justo antes de darse un abrazo, Juan la miró a la frente, bromeó y dijo: “¡Sí! Deberías haber cancelado.” Se rieron y entraron. Compartieron una increíble cena de bistec seguida de algunos cócteles fuertes y buenas risas. Dado el buen momento que compartieron, decidieron continuar la noche en un bar local. Sin querer olvidar la noche, se tomaron su primera foto juntos (con una máscara Covid, por supuesto) ¡Y el resto es historia!

Juan estuvo semanas colaborando la propuesta perfecta con amigos y familiares. Dado que Juan y el hermano de Marcy, Eddie, cumple años en el mes de Mayo, decidieron decirle a Marcy que celebrarían el cumpleaños de Eddie el 21 de Mayo de 2022. También le dijeron a Marcy que sería una fiesta de cumpleaños de sorpresa para Juan. Dada la cantidad de familiares y amigos que se esperaba que estuvieran en la ciudad ese fin de semana, Marcy sospechó que había un compromiso. Ante sus sospechas, decidió hacerse las uñas. En la tarde del 21 de Mayo (poco antes de la propuesta), Juan parecía no sentirse bien para ganar algo de tiempo. Esto retrasó su salida hacia Los Potrillos donde todos esperaban ansiosos su llegada. Cuando ambos entraron al restaurante, fueron recibidos por sus amigos más cercanos, familiares y las cámaras de los teléfonos celulares de todos. Con toda la emoción, Juan se acercó a Marcy, se arrodilló y le pidió que se casara con él. Bailaron, celebraron y compartieron algunas noticias que nadie esperaba. ¡Marcy y Juan esperaban un bebé en Diciembre!

Nuestro precioso regalo del cielo, Sofia Ramos, recibirá el Sacramento del Santo Bautismo durante nuestra ceremonia de boda. Nos sentimos honrados de tener presentes a Lucero Garcia Avila y Cesar Avila como sus padrinos.
