The short story was: We met at a Coast Guard training camp in Maryland that was required for the cruise ship (Norwegian Cruise Line). The long story: It was 4th of July week 2018. Celebrations were made (at the only bar there) with the group for all of us passing our exams on the final night. Michelle was talking herself up saying how she could fight anyone there and that included challenging Marcus. Michelle started with a "Rhonda Rousey" throw of Marcus over her shoulder and a full-on MMA/Jiu Jitsu wrestling fight (trying to choke each other out or get an arm bar) took place. (Who won the fight is still up for debate to this day). Well, training week ended and Marcus went home to his parents' in Colorado and Michelle went home to her sister's in Florida - never thinking they would see each other again. 2 weeks later, Michelle had actually flown home to Colorado for a family gathering, and before flying back out again, Marcus drove all the way to the airport just to hang out for a few hours. 1 week later, Marcus surprised Michelle by buying a plane ticket to Florida. We spent 2 weeks together in Florida and that solidified our relationship together. Fast forward to December 2018, we were both working on the cruise ship spending our time off in bliss (Hawaii). Time went by and Michelle knew. She called Marcus' parents and asked for their blessing and then she waited for the perfect chance. Date night had to be pre-approved (crew-passenger access) and pre-planned. The night finally came and it was perfect - romantic - and flawless. Dinner, drinks, a comedy show, a ship tour, and then finally with a friend for videographer, and a friend for DJ (with the mood and music set) Michelle proposed (much to Marcus' surprise) and he said yes. They celebrated on the top deck slow-dancing to music under the stars, moonlight, and Hawaiian ocean smells & sounds. That was that.
