The Wedding Website of Alan Raff and Ashley Marcoux

Christopher Pellegrini

Best Man (he/him)

Chris met Alan at a daycare program at the Executive Health & Sports Club in 1993. Chris bullied Alan, but quickly realized there were not many other prospects for friendship at the daycare facility, and relented. After his recalculation, the two became almost inseparable. Although Chris is now a sunny, charming father and husband, as a child, he was acerbic. Alan's father attributes his son's general cynicism to thirteen-year-old Chris. #FunFact: As preteens, Chris, Alan, and their friend Garrett wrote a thirty-page, totally not legally-binding, list of the rules and regulations governing their conduct while on the premises of their usual hangout named "The Complex Rules" #FunFact 2: Chris is responsible for Alan's 20-year effort to try and care about sport

Liz Marcoux

Maid of Honor (she/her)

Liz met Ashley when she was a small, pleasantly pudgy, and (delightfully) demanding sister-infant-loaf fresh from their mama's oven. Although she relished their parents' undivided attention, Liz was surprisingly smitten by her new lil sis. She even insisted that her preference, "Ashley", was included in the draw from a hat that decided her name. Mom and Dad later agreed that neither Brianna nor Emily would have fit quite as right. Liz and Ashley share a passion for video games, obsession over furry critters, and adoration of natural wonder and handcrafted art. They differ on almost everything else. #FunFact: Liz's talents range the gamut from fine arts to robotics #FunFact 2: The name of Louis Marcoux's O.G. construction business was 'A & E Construction' for Ashley and Elizabeth

Andrew Gillespie

Best Man (he/him)

When Alan transferred back to the University of Vermont, after his short stint at Connecticut College, he was assigned to a freshman dormitory, even though he was a sophomore. Andrew, or Noam (as only Alan refers to him, making reference to Andrews stubbornly progressive, "Noam Chomsky" bearing) was his assigned roommate. Like most of Alan's best relationships, this one did not begin well. Alan thought Andrew was a pretentious hippie, and Andrew thought Alan was a neurotic bro. But somehow, almost a year after parting ways and moving out of the Ills 4th floor dorm room, the two formed a bond. #FunFact: Although they have not seen every Phish show together, they have seen the same total number of Phish shows. #FunFact 2: Andrew once threw Alan into a dumpster.

Erica Raff

Officiant (they/them)

Erica and Ashley met at their shared bus-stop to Peter Woodbury Elementary School when they were 7 and 8. Growing up together, they'd alternate after-school Trampoline sessions in Ashley's backyard for synchronized mermaid swimming in Erica's pool, and take long walks and longer bike rides to talk everything from boys, babes, and all beauty and they navigated in-between. Erica meticulously documented these adventures along with annual summer excursions to the Cape, regular self-taught lessons in how to apply eyeliner, and more mundane to marvelous moments in point-and-shoot pics that both treasure to this day. #FunFact: Erica & Ashley's friendship started with a mutual fascination for breaking webworms in the trees by their bus-stop

Jimmy Kalinoski

Best Man (he/him)

Jimmy met Alan while smoking a cigarette outside of their law school. The first time that Alan went to Jimmy's apartment to have a beer after class, Alan noticed a book by the author, Glenn Beck. Alan exclaimed something like "what a nut, right?" He then noticed that there was an Ayn Rand book on the same bookshelf. Jimmy came back from the fridge with a Rolling Rock, and handed it to him. Alan then realized he was sitting in the apartment of compassionate conservative, and their friendship began. #FunFact: Jimmy took Alan to his first Jimmy Buffett show #FunFact 2: In 2012, Alan and Jimmy began work on a screenplay about a group of friends attending law school, titled "J.D."

Jessica Henault

Bridesmaid (she/her)

Jessica and Ashley have been each other's other halves since they decided that middle school boys should never come in between two girls who are meant to be best friends forever. With their shared AP class schedules, after-school cheerleading practices, and late-night dance rehearsals in Jessica's basement, Ashley and Jess were attached at the hip throughout high school and have strong "connection" moments to this day. #FunFact: Ashley and Jessica will likely open up a shared law firm (Marcault Law), become fabulously wealthy, and live their remaining days yachting the world together

Amelia Keane

Bridesmaid (she/her)

Amelia and Ashley discovered they'd lived incredibly similar lives after meeting at Hillary Clinton's field office on Elm street during the 2016 presidential campaign. Amelia had just started as the New Hampshire Young Democrat's first-ever Executive Director, and came into the office wearing a fabulous burgundy power paint-suit. Ashley knew she had to befriend this badass woman immediately. With their shared passions for politics, youth engagement, and smashing the patriarchy at every chance they got, Amelia and Ashley became quick besties who'll someday take over the world and rule it benevolently together. Funfact: Amelia is an army medic, former NH State Rep, and currently studying medicine at UNE

Jordan Wolff

Groomsman (he/him)

Known by many as "Block," short for "J Block," Jordan was Alan's big brother in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the University of Vermont. Upon meeting, Jordan and Alan formed an immediate friendship. They shared a love of music. Jordan introduced Alan to jam bands, and Alan introduced Jordan to talents of John Mayer, and benefits of bourbon. Jordan encouraged Alan to write and sing songs (and even occasionally perform them in front of people). The two friends have stayed close, despite years, trials, and miles. #FunFact: Jordan and Alan co-authored a screenplay and original score for "The World's First Motion Picture Reggae Opera." #FunFact 2: Jordan is a skilled chiropractor and is taking clients in Midtown Manhattan

Paddy O'Donnell

Groomsmen (he/him)

Patrick or "Paddy" met Alan through during his sophomore year at the University of Vermont. When the two met, they were in a computer science class together, a class in which Alan received the lowest grade of his academic career. Not only did they share an inability to understand computer programing, but also an understanding about the good in people. Paddy is often referred to as "the kindest guy around," or "a teddy bear," and possesses the rare ability to make Alan pause and check himself. Patrick teaches high school Spanish in Colorado, where he lives with his fiancee Jamie and their new dog. #FunFact: Patrick once saved Geoff and Alan from being mugged and assaulted in the hills outside the Spanish city of San Sebastian. #FunFact 2: Patrick is getting married on July 3rd!

Carly Unger

Bridesmaid (she/her)

Ashley met Carly on the blue couches at the Bricks on sorority row at UNH. To just say they hit it off at rush might miss the countless drive-through candy-flavored coffees at the Shack, awesome and awful themed parties on frat row, and totally raunchy deli meat and dressing rolls they enjoyed through the years they roomed together in college. These sisters have been anchors for each other through some of their lives' toughest times, and Carly fits right in with the Jersey girls. #FunFact: Carly's nickname in college was meatball, which it lovingly remains #FunFact 2: Ashley and Carly had beds next to each other on "deck" at their sorority (in the attic where all the girls slept, similar to Annie)

Geoff Roberts

Groomsmen (he/him)

Geoff ("Papa G") and Alan's relationship began in 2005, when Geoff started dating his fiancee, Kelley, who also happened to be Alan's high school sweetheart. After 4 years of college, the two realized that they had more in common than taste in women, and became roommates (at the notorious "939") while Alan attended law school and Geoff worked in Boston at a start up company. Over the years, and despite Geoff and Kelley's move to San Diego, both their bond, and drinking prowess grew exponentially. #FunFact: In 2013, Geoff ran the encierro (running of the bulls), in Pamplona with Alan. #FunFact 2: Geoff and Kelley have now been engaged for almost twice as long as Alan and Ashley were prior to June 27, 2020.
