Have a coffee or Spritz in Piazza Tasso, do a limoncello tasting in a local lemon grove, or just enjoy the sun at Marina Grande. There are many places to shop, eat, or just lounge on the beach in Sorrento!
From Sorrento, you can take a ferry to any of the towns along the Amalfi coast. They are relatively unexpensive and depart from the Sorrento port several times an hour. We recommend visiting Amalfi, Positano, Praiano, and Capri. You can also take a small bus up the hill from Amalfi to Ravello to enjoy cliffside views of the entire coastline.
About 1hr from Sorrento Pompeii was a thriving Roman city in southern Italy, located near modern Naples, that was completely buried under 4 to 6 meters of volcanic ash and pumice after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. It is significant as a uniquely preserved, "time-capsule" archaeological site providing unparalleled insight into daily Roman life, boasting thousands of tourists annually.
