$-$$$ We would recommend finding a place to stay on AirBNB! There a many options available that are centrally located and easy walking distance to all the major attractions. If you're unsure about your location, just ask and we would be happy to advise!

Flight

Vancouver International Airport (YVR)

You can fly into Vancouver and then catch the ferry to Victoria where we would be happy to pick you up on the other side. For more information on the ferry please see BC Ferries option in this list. Flights to Victoria often have a layover in Vancouver where you switch to smaller plane. Another option if you land during the day time is to take Harbour Air or Helijet to Victoria from Vancouver.

Flight

Victoria International Airport (YYJ)

Victoria Airport is a small airport located on the Saanich Penisula on Vancouver Island. It is about 30min drive from downtown Victoria. Transportation into the city is poor so if you're not planning on renting a car at the airport (recommended) we will happily arrange to come pick you up!

Rental Car

Airport Car Rentals

Both Victoria and Vancouver airports offer car rentals from Hertz and National among some other options. If you plan to do a little sightseeing around the South Island we would recommend you consider renting a vehicle as buses are unreliable and walking/bikes are best saved for downtown core. No ... we have no trams, or subway or metro or skytrain or train or any other form of modern transportation (we do have great bike paths though!)

Travel Note

BC Ferries

If you arrive in Vancouver and are looking to take the ferry we strongly advise you check the schedule (we are also happy to help coordinate). BC Ferries is famously unpredictable and unaccommodating. Vancouver ferry terminal is "Tsawassen" and Victoria ferry terminal is "Swartz Bay." That being said, we have often been bound to use the ferry service and it's only let us down about 50% of the time. Getting from the airport to the ferry is simple but please budget about 60-90 min: 1. Upon exiting your terminal follow signs for "Skytrain Station - Canada Line" 2. Purchase a ticket when you get to the blue kiosk in front of the gate to the skytrain (1 Zone, used for skytrain and bus) 3. You will be heading towards Waterfront 4. Get off at Bridgeport Station (3 stop) 5. Head downstairs to the Bus Exchange 6. Hop onto 620 Tsawassen Ferry (located at Bay 12) 7. Get off on the last stop 8. Run to catch the ferry!

Flight

Harbour Air

This is a beautiful way to sightsee and also experience something unique to Island life! As Islanders, we have never taken Harbour Air but we would be happy to assist you in planning. Another consideration is to fly one way and take the ferry the other way!

Flight

Helijet

The quickest way (30min) to get from Vancouver to Victoria and back again! However, one of the more expensive ways too. Sometimes, there can be some last minute deals as they try to fill seats (especially during business hours Mon-Fri) and we are more than happy to help you plan your flight accordingly. Once again, flying one way and taking the ferry the other is an option too!

For all the days along the way
