Things To Do

There is a lot to do in Dallas! Below are a few options we recommend to entertain yourself while in town for the weekend.

Katy Trail (Dallas)

Katy Trail (Dallas), Dallas, TX

Perfect for a morning, afternoon, or evening walk/run/bike ride. There are multiple areas to park a car or get dropped off. But I recommend finding street parking near the Katy Trail Ice House and walking to that entry point of the trail. This city trail is where Marc and I met! We met on the bridge right past the Katy Trail Ice House.

Katy Trail Ice House

3127 Routh Street, Dallas, TX 75201

Great for an afternoon beer and food. Hop on the Katy Trail for an afternoon or morning walk!

The French Room

1321 Commerce Street, Dallas, TX 75202

The French Room is a restaurant in The Adolphus that does daily afternoon tea. It truly is a wonderful experience. My mom & I did it the weekend of my wedding dress shopping and had a blast. Reservations are a must if you want to go!

Nick & Sam's Steakhouse

3008 Maple Avenue, Dallas, TX 75201

Marc and I absolutely love Nick & Sam's. It's one of our favorite restaurants to celebratory dinners at. If you want to experience a Texas steakhouse, we highly recommend this place. We recommend grabbing reservations 6-8 weeks in advance! The place definitely books up every night! You can make reservations on Open Table or through the website linked.

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

8525 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218

Large, beautiful gardens to walk through. There is also a kids area for kids to play if you bring them. Recommend purchasing tickets a few days in advance. This is where we got engaged!!! :)

White Rock Lake

Dallas, TX

Perfect for a walk or run around the lake! There's also an option to rent paddle boards and kayaks to go out on the lake. This is also where Marc and I did a lot of our "dog walking dates" when we first were hanging out.

Dallas Farmers Market

920 South Harwood Street, Dallas, TX 75201

The Dallas Farmers Market shops are open daily and there is a open air farmers market every Saturday!

Perot Museum of Nature and Science

2201 North Field Street, Dallas, TX 75201

Popular art and science museum in Uptown Dallas

Reunion Tower

Dallas, TX 75207

Observation deck with views of all of Dallas! There is also a restaurant called Crown Block at the top of Reunion Tower that is good for dinner. Recommend getting reservations for the tower and the restaurant in advance.

American Airlines Center

2500 Victory Avenue, Dallas, TX 75219

Huge event arena in Victory Park area of Dallas. It's home to the Dallas Mavericks (basketball) and Dallas Stars (hockey) and hosts a ton of concerts. Look up to see if there's anything interesting while you're here in Dallas!

Bishop Arts District

Dallas, TX 75208

Newer area of Dallas with shops and restaurants. I recommend Paradiso for lunch/dinner if going to the Bishop Arts area!

John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza

646 Main Street, Dallas, TX 75202

Memorial Plaza for JFK as he was assassinated in Dallas.

Book Depository (The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza)

411 Elm Street, Dallas, TX 75202

Museum chronicles the assassination of JFK

Knox / Henderson Neighborhood

Dallas, TX

Knox Henderson is a popular part of the city for food. There's a lot of bars and restaurants that line Knox Henderson that you can go to. On the west side of 75 it's Knox Street and on the east side of 75 it's Henderson Ave.

Fort Worth Stockyards

131 East Exchange Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76164

See what Texas is really about at the Stockyards! Go for a show or go to walk around and see the different restaurants and shops in the area. The Stockyards are in Fort Worth so recommend a car for transportation.
