The closest airport to Marbella is Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), about 30 minutes away by car. For anyone traveling from Newark, NJ—there is a nonstop option! From other U.S. cities, most flights connect through Madrid, Barcelona, or another European hub. Other nearby airport: Gibraltar International Airport (GIB), about 1 hour from Marbella If you want to—and can—extend your trip on the front end or back end, we recommend it! Flights within Europe are typically affordable. For the best price, avoid booking one-way flights. Book roundtrip or multi-city trips.
Travel Note
For the most charming Marbella experience, we recommend staying in Old Town Marbella (~10 minute drive from from venue). It’s the best option if you want to be in the middle of the action, with restaurants, shops, cafés, and the sea all nearby. Airbnbs in Old Town: Airbnb is typically the most affordable option, with plenty of great choices across a range of price points. We put together a list of recommended properties to make the search a little easier: https://www.airbnb.com/l/w08qlutR Hotels in Old Town: If you prefer a hotel and the amenities that come with it, we recommend: La Fonda Heritage Hotel, Relais & Châteaux—A beautiful luxury hotel in the heart of Old Town. https://lafondaheritage.com/en/home/ Hotel Claude Marbella—An intimate boutique hotel tucked into the historic center. https://hotelclaudemarbella.com/en/ Want to Stay Closer to the Venue? For those who prefer something quieter and closer to the wedding venue, we recommend: Rio Real Golf & Hotel Marbella—A boutique hotel set on a golf course just outside the center of Marbella and is walkable to the wedding venue. It’s a great option if you’re traveling with kids, enjoy golf, or simply prefer a more peaceful setting away from the bustle of Old Town. https://rioreal.com/en/ You really can’t go wrong with either area—it just depends on the Marbella experience you’re looking for!

Be on the lookout as we will be adding an "if we were guests..." section soon. We love to travel—and we really love to plan a trip. We also know that not everyone loves the planning part quite as much as we do. So, if you’d rather just be told where to go and what to do, we've got you. The "if we were guests" section will provide an outline of...if we were guests traveling from the U.S. for our wedding, this is how we’d spend the weekend and turn the trip to Marbella into a little Spanish vacation. More to come soon!

The easiest way is Uber or taxi. You could also hire a private transfer, or get a rental car. There are also buses from Málaga Airport to Marbella’s central bus station, which is a more affordable option.
