How We Met

The first time Chris and I met was through a mutual friend group at a Halloween party I had thrown at my little ole apartment back in 2014. Our first bit of conversation was him expressing to me how he thought my Halloween decorations were awesome and he loved my attention to detail. I remember being very flattered that he noticed everything because I have always put so much time and thought into creating any sort of artistic project. We didn't see much of each other after that except occasionally through mutual friend get togethers. A couple of years down the road and we ended up working with one another! We were always those employees who were caught laughing with each other almost the whole shift. We just had this natural understanding of one another and with one look, we would know what each other were thinking. So naturally, we started spending more time outside of work with each other as friends. We spent a good 7 months letting our friendship flourish. Then, one day I spilled the beans about my feelings to Chris and to my surprise, he had felt the same way! I remember at that moment it truly felt like it was meant to be and the rest was history.

Our Engagement

One of our first dates was at a place called Harry P. Leu Gardens in Winter Park, FL. We just fell in love with this place because we both really enjoy the outdoors and everything nature has to offer. Two years later, on a beautiful January afternoon, Chris had suggested that we visit the gardens for what I thought was just a normal date for us. We had brought my camera along and I was capturing the beauty of the gardens. I tend to get a little adventurous and go off the path... so we followed this stream into the tropical gardens that we really weren't supposed to be in, but we will make that our little secret... he pulled out his phone as if to take a video of us enjoying the scenery and as the phone was recording us, he whips out a ring in front of my face and I knew exactly what it meant without him having to say anything. There were many tears mixed in with laughter from pure joy. He got down on one knee, popped the question, and I said, "YES!" We were so happy in that sweet intimate moment between the two of us. Wouldn't change anything about it. Now we are counting down the days until we can say, “I do.”
