Bring your own gear and go fishing for stocked brook or rainbow trout! Or just follow the trail from camp (mostly flat 4.7 miles round trip) and hang a hammock to relax. Add 1.1 miles by wandering around the lake. Kayaks and canoes are also permitted on this small lake. We'll try to round up one or two for sharing with guests.
Bring a mountain bike to travel along Duschene Ridge to Heart Lake. You can also hike up to the ridge from camp if you are feeling like a challenge.
Soapstone is just one of the many beautiful places you can get to via 4 wheel drive roads used for recreation and hunting (though it won't be hunting season just yet). You'll run into vans. jeeps, and atv riders. Search online for forest service maps to see where else you can go.
Take the 45-minute scenic drive along the rest of State Route 35 to the tiny town of Hanna or Tabiona where you can access more mountain roads, a few small diners, or even a dude ranch.
Want to rent a Kayak or ATV, or even book a guided tour? We've not used this company, but it is not too far away and can point you in the direction of tour guides and other activities.
