https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZbgpiumWcPRVNJzhyHwnmp08Am2FIUaO76xgZvkQqeg/edit?usp=sharing ... FRIDAY NIGHT: Potato bar potluck. If you are coming Friday please plan to share some food. Sign up for an item or add your own dish to the list using the link above. We do have full use of the small commercial kitchen but with 30 people the one oven +6 burners could be tough to divvy up, so please plan food with minimal prep. [Please don’t worry about contributing if you are flying in!]. We'll be onsite in the early afternoon, food will be out starting around 6 but show up whenever is convenient for you!
e want you to relax with us and skip doing dishes. Here’s what we’ll provide so you don’t have to cart in too many supplies. BREAKFAST Grab whatever whenever you want-- Muffins, yogurt, fruit & granola, granola bars, juice, coffee (a handful or creamers etc.), nuts. You are welcome to take any of these items with you on a hike! LUNCH-- grab whatever whenever you want: chips, bread for sandwiches, pb & j, cold cuts and veggies toppings, leftovers from potluck.
Of course! Some snacks will be out starting at 3ish. Ceremony is from 3:45 to 4. Dinner starting around 5:30pm will be a bbq food truck with ribs, corn, and jackfruit sandos for our vegetarian friends. Additional salads and sides will be available in the kitchen to make yourself a full picnic plate.
Drinks! Friday please BYOB. Saturday day we’ll have a few things out for you to grab during the day. For the wedding itself, we have a limited selection of sodas, sparkling water, beer, wine, and pre-mixed (and very tasty) signature cocktails and mocktails you can choose from. We’ll have a few cases of water bottles in case they are needed, but would love for you to plan on refilling one bottle.
Sure! We really do plan to have enough food for everyone, so don’t worry about it! But there will be 30 people around on Friday and 60+ people there on Saturday so please be mindful of space. You can put stuff in the walk-in or pantry if you bring a bag/bin to contain all your food that can be easily marked. Excess items and all personal beverages may need to stay in your own cooler (in the car or in the dining area).
Actually, there are no invitations other than this website! We like to keep things as sustainable as possible, so we won't be printing or mailing any formal invitations. If you've been sent this link, you're invited! So save the date and we hope to see you in September!
Mill Hollow Summer Camp is at 8,800ft so it's cooler than you might expect but Utah is in a heat wave. So daytime temperatures will be in the 70s and nighttime temps will be in the 40's to 50's. If the weather is nice, plan for sunscreen and layers to protect yourself from the sun at higher altitudes. If the weather is not as nice, we'll gather in the lodge and you'll want layers to keep you dry in between buildings. We'll have plenty of extra coats and beanies to share if you end up chilly.
Yes! We consider this more of a family and friend reunion than a "real" wedding, so everyone is welcome! Bring some kid-approved extras like kites or board games if you're up for it, and be prepared to keep your really little littles from wandering off too far.
Nope! We've got the space reserved whether you stay in a cabin or not.
OUTDOOR GAMES, CAMP CHAIRS, HAMMOCKS, SMORE STICKS. If you have any items or skills you'd like to offer to help our little community enjoy the weekend, just say the word and we'll put the word out. You're also welcome to bring a small cooler of beverages of your own to keep in your car for the weekend or to share with others. While we will have some beers and some pitchers of signature cocktails to share on Saturday, there will not be bar service.
If you're coming from Salt Lake City you'll be on highways most of the way. State Route 35 is windy in places, but paved, well maintained, and easily passable this time of year. The turn off for the camp is a well maintained dirt road that is easily traveled in a regular car. There is parking at camp and along the road if needed. We'll provide a map to parking when the date approaches.
The YMCA owns the site and does not permit dogs or other pets. Even having service animals will increase event insurance, so we'd prefer to avoid that if at all possible.
Maybe? It depends a lot on what carrier you have and whether you are standing/driving in a valley or on a peak. We'd love for this to be a mostly screen-free weekend if that's reasonable for you and your family. But if it's absolutely necessary, there will be wifi available in the lodge. As far as navigating to camp--we'll share a picture with directions and parking info when the event gets closer. If you're planning to use a map on your phone, make sure to start navigation before you turn onto State Route 35 because you will lose service in some places along the way. If you're adventuring, download trail maps to your phone before you head up to camp.
Yes! We don't want to run out of anything, so please feel free to add or alter your RSVP if needed over the next few days. AFter 9/3 please text us with any changes of plans.
Cabins are shared spaces and we have plenty of room for anyone who wants to stay, but there will be some of you who get top bunks! And if you're like more privacy there are BLM spots to spread out into for several miles, and there is a paid established campground a mile down the road by the reservoir.
