From November to April, Puerto Vallarta offers one of the best whale-watching opportunities around the world. Join a boat tour and venture into the waters of Banderas Bay to witness the incredible humpback whales during their annual migration. Some tours provide the opportunity to listen to the whales' songs through hydrophones, adding an extra dimension to this unforgettable experience. Please let us know if you are interested in this tour - we know the best tour company in town!
The surrounding areas of Vallarta are popular for surfing and learning to surf. Tanya loved her surfing lessons there!
Puerto Vallarta's old town vibrant boardwalk, located in the heart of downtown. This iconic street runs parallel to the beach and offers stunning ocean views. Explore local shops, art galleries, and street performers. Indulge in delicious street food, watch the sunset from a seaside restaurant, or simply enjoy a leisurely walk while taking in the colorful sculptures and charming architecture. Great for night life, whether you like cocktail/rooftop bars, breweries, night clubs, or street food.

Puerto Vallarta is in Jalisco, and Jalisco is the land of Tequila. Tequila town is about 3 hours away from the Puerto Vallarta. If you love tequila, or want to try something more exciting than a wine tasting, this day trip is a must.
Small volcanic islands located just off the coast of Puerto Vallarta, famous for its “hidden beach” and amazing snorkeling. Explore the unique ecosystem, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, and discover hidden beaches and caves. This protected marine park is home to diverse marine life, making it a fantastic spot for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts.
The Puerto Vallarta area, extending 29 miles northwest to Punta Mita, features 10 courses that range from oceanfront to jungle, and even to an urban area, the Marina Vallarta Golf Club, a block from our wedding venue.
These privately owned gardens have one of the largest orchid collections in North America, in addition to being one of the best ways to explore the flora and fauna of Puerto Vallarta. My advice is to go in the morning and enjoy breakfast at Cafe before exploring the gardens. You can get to watch hummingbirds and listen to the rainforest with coffee (or Tequila) in hand.
Punta Mita is a lush, private peninsula on Mexico’s Pacific Coast, about 10 miles north of Puerto Vallarta (~1 hour drive). This 1,500-acre enclave receives consistently warm and sunny weather, and its crystalline waters lend themselves perfectly to swimming and surfing.
