How We Met

February 18th, 2023

Megan came to accepted students day with her mom and dad, excited to see the school she was planning on committing to. Adam came to accepted students day on his own, as there was a snow storm the night before and his dad had just come off a night shift and his mom was on a business trip. When Adam walked into the large room he looked around and saw one table that wasn't already bustling with conversation. At this table one man with a great handlebar mustache sat, with three plates of pastries. So Adam sat and started conversation and a few minutes later Megan and her mom came back to sit. As the day went on Adam and Megan were placed in the same group for each activity, they were in group four together the whole day. At the end of the day, there was an optional tour Megan and her family had planned to take. Adam decided, after finding out Megan was going on the tour, that he too would join. After the day was over Megan and her family simply said in the car, "well that kid was chatty". After the semester started later in the year, Adam found a way to make Megan know he existed and would frequently hang out with his many friends on Megan's floor so he could say hi when she passed by. Eventually, Megan invited Adam to come to an event the school was putting together with her, and they blossomed from there.

Our First Date

October 14th, 2023

Paintball. Each year the outing club at the University puts on a paintball field trip where they bring you on an hour and a half bus ride to a place in New Hampshire and you play paintball with other students. Neither Megan nor Adam were expecting to find that majority of the other students there were intense air soft and paintball players already, and were very out matched skill wise. On the bus ride back Adam's headphones had died so together they shared Megan's. At that point one of Megan's headphones would make a wishing sound randomly so they swapped back and forth the working headphone between them. It was during this bus ride where Megan was shocked to discover the music that Adam listens to and that he plays the guitar. He showed her some of his favorite artists, Disturbed, Avenge Sevenfold, and other "angry music people" as Megan likes to put it. Megan showed Adam the folk songs she likes, and Adam just pointed out how the guitars in those songs are playing the same 4 notes on repeat. They talked and listened to music the whole way back, and these were the first few times they talked to each other 1-on-1.

Meeting her family

November 25th, 2023

The Gamache's this year decided to have their Thanksgiving on the Saturday after the holiday, this meant Adam was available to meet his new girlfriend's family. And her Aunt and Uncle. And her Memere and Pepere. All at the same time. No pressure. Of course the entire time leading up to it Megan was preparing him with everything she could about who he was about to meet. When he got there he was greeted warmly by everyone and went to sit down at the table as things were just about ready. Megan's dad proceeds to go grab his new gun to show Adam. Poor Adam had just met everyone and the next thing he knows Megan's dad is talking to him about this gun he's showing him and talking about who knows what. When talking about it later, we found out Megan's dad wasn't trying to intimidate him, he simply wanted to show anyone and everyone his new purchase.

The Anniversaries

November 1st 2024 & 2025

For our first anniversary, we were in the middle of our study abroad semester in Morocco. This meant we had the opportunity to make a lasting memory and go to Paris for this celebration of our first year together! We raced together through the airport to make our layover in time (it was a 30-minute layover with customs to go through), and made it to the flight! We stayed in a little apartment in the middle of the city and were able to explore the area and eat lots of food. We went on a river tour, went up the Eiffel Tower, walked through the gardens by the Louvre, saw Notre Dame, and had some delicious French desserts. Even though we were in Paris for less than 24 hours, we made memories that will last a lifetime! Fast forward a year, and it is our second anniversary. How can we top Paris? Well, Adam's family had recently purchased a shed and needed some extra hands to put it together. So year two was celebrated with family and keeping Scott (Adam's dad) from falling off the ladder!
