We love your little ones! But, our wedding will be adults only with a few exceptions for the flower girls & ring bearer. Thank you for understanding.
The wedding will be cocktail attire, meaning cocktail or midi length dresses, dressy jumpsuits/pantsuits, suits & ties, and dress shoes. The welcome party will be "dressy casual" attire. Button downs, khaki shorts or pants, slacks, sundresses, etc. all work great!
The welcome party, ceremony & reception will all be fully indoors. There is a 5 minute walk from the ceremony to the reception. The cocktail hour will be on a rooftop with limited coverage, weather permitting.
If you are staying downtown near Beach Drive (see recommended hotels in "Travel"), you will be a 5-20 minute walk from all the weekend's venues, and will not need to drive to anything. If you are staying elsewhere, we recommend taking a cab or rideshare -- driving downtown during tourist season can be stressful! If you would prefer to drive, we strongly suggest utilizing the valet we will have available at The Birchwood. If you have to self park, refer to our list of nearby parking garages below. Depending where you're staying, other options include taking the downtown trolley looper which runs until 10pm on weekends. St. Pete also has a "Sun Runner" rapid transit bus that runs along Central Avenue from the beach to downtown. -Trolley looper: https://www.psta.net/services/st-petersburg-downtown-looper/ -Sun Runner: https://psta.net/services/sunrunner/ -Plaza Tower Parking Garage: 257 1st Street NE -SunDial Parking Garage: 117 2nd Street North -SouthCore Parking Garage: 101 1st Avenue South -Lanier Parking Solutions: 150 2nd Avenue North (this one is not 24 hours)
The museum shares a parking lot with the Pier, which has by-the-hour rates. We will have a limited number of spots reserved. Otherwise, you can follow the same directions as above, as the Museum of History is just a couple blocks away from the MFA/Birchwood.
St. Pete in March typically sees temps in the 70s/low 80s during the day and 60s at night. This is not rainy season, but an umbrella on a trip to FL is never a bad idea. Another tip is that late March is Spring Break for many schools & generally a tourism high season in St. Pete. Book your accommodations as early as possible to secure the best rates, and if you plan to drive & self park, leave yourself ample time to navigate the busy Beach Drive area of downtown.
Yes! All throughout the welcome party you are encouraged to explore the Museum of History's exhibits. If you arrive to the MFA early, you can explore the exhibits until 4:30 PM ish.
You won't regret it! This is a great time of year to explore the beach and theme parks without getting too hot. Some favorite hotels along St. Pete Beach include the Don Cesar, Hotel Zamora, Post Card Inn, and the Tradewinds, plus endless b&bs and beachfront motels. You can also check things out "up north" in Madeira Beach, Indian Rocks Beach and Clearwater Beach. There are also fun things to do across the Bay in Tampa! We recommend Sparkman Wharf, Armature Works, Lowry Park Zoo, the Manatee Viewing Center, Tampa River Walk, the Florida Aquarium, & historic Ybor. Also consider visiting Busch Gardens/Adventure Island (1 hour away in North Tampa) or Disney World and Universal/Islands of Adventure (2 hours away in Orlando). This is spring break time of year, so expect some lines.
