There is no better time to visit Vermont than October. While the leaves turning on the trees is surely the visual everyone goes for, the misty mornings, often warm afternoons and just-chilly-enough evenings really tie it all together. It’s early enough in the season that activities like golfing, hiking and biking are still not only possible, but encouraged.
To get to Manchester, Vermont- fly into Albany, New York. You will need to rent a car from there! Is about an hour drive from the airport into city center!
