How we met: While our paths has briefly crossed before we didn’t really get to know each other until one evening when our mutual friends Matt and Darien Johnson invited us to a Dodgers game. We learned two important things that night, 1.) we both appreciate the ritual of a hot dog at a baseball game and 2.) it’s never too late for a spicy tequila drink. Despite the after hours festivities, a drive was planned for the following day and Megan bravely joined Andrew for a spirited run through the canyons above Malibu in an angry little BMW coupe. He knew she was something special when she urged him to pick up the pace and laughed the entire time. Fast forward a month and they went on their first date, snacks in the lobby of a hotel Megan had mentioned she loved the design of, followed by drinks at a small bar inside of what would become their favorite Italian restaurant. More dates followed that would set the tone for their relationship, hotly contested games of backgammon, ethereal shows at Hollywood Bowl where Andrew sang and sobbed without care, lazy afternoon poolside hangs that always seemed to end with french fries and a mild sunburn. It was a fairytale beginning with trips to Palm Springs, New York City and Vermont, and the fairy tale continued, even throughout the toughest year that nobody saw coming. Which brings us to September 4th 2021.

The Proposal: After a week of gallivanting around the South of France with Matt and Darien (finally enjoying their long postponed honeymoon) Andrew dropped to one knee to get a big rock out of his shoe while on a walk through the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. Megan and Darien were rather hungry so they impatiently waited for him to get it out, while Matt discretely started filming the scene. It took a second, but when Megan realized that it was no ordinary rock in Andrew’s shoe, but a very beautiful one affixed to a ring of platinum and gold, she froze like a deer in headlights and the happy tears began to flow. The first glass of champagne came soon after and many more followed over the next 48 hours while they closed out their trip to France as a newly engaged couple.
