Our Story

How Mandy remembers it... It all started when I moved to Orchard Park, NY, in 2017. I was just starting my junior year at a new high school when I first saw Zach in 1st-period Psychology class. A week later, I took a trip to Target, and there he was, working the self-checkout. He came up to me, and we had a short conversation. I don't even remember what we talked about. I just remember leaving with butterflies in my stomach. The end of September was our high school homecoming dance, where I asked him for his number. We talked every chance we could get. I'll never forget our first date together on October 5th. The first stop was Mayer Bros Cider Mill for cider slushies and donuts. Then we went up to Chestnut Ridge Park and talked for hours as the sun went down. A little over a month later, Zach asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course, I said yes, lol. We spent as much time together as we could that year, knowing he would be leaving for college in the summer. Fast forward 4-5 years later, we made it through long distance and moved in together! On September 21, 2024, he asked me to be his wife, and I couldn't imagine a more perfect man to marry. <3 How Zach remembers it... My first period class senior year was psychology, which I decided on randomly before the year had started. On the first day of school, I remember seeing Mandy for the first time during that class and thinking her name reminded me of the Barry Manilow song. Our first real conversation happened at Target while I was working as a cashier, and from there we started to chat at the end of class. I learned that she was new to Buffalo from Texas and loved to say "y'all." I also learned quickly how much she loved her family and how kind she was. During the fall homecoming, we exchanged numbers and shared our first kiss. Things moved fast after that, and within a month we were officially dating. Leaving high school was the hardest part of our relationship, knowing we would have at least four years of long-distance dating to overcome. Thankfully, those four years flew by, and we were finally able to come back together in June of 2022. In the years after, we adjusted to living together and finally got to enjoy the time we missed out on during the first years of our relationship. Mandy and I had finally started our careers at the end of 2023, and I knew it was time. I was able to save up, and I finally asked her to be my wife on September 21, 2024, seven years after we met for the first time. I can't wait to hear her say "I do" on October 3, 2025.
