Matron of Honor
Enisa and Mandy met through work when Enisa started as a Production Manager for Open Road in 2018. Their offices being next door to each other, they ended up spending a lot of time talking and commiserating when work (and life) got to be a lot. Mandy grew to love Enisa’s boldness, genuine understanding nature, and often looked to her as a sister. Not to mention the bonus of hanging out with her super cute kiddos! Their friendship has continued to blossom even as Enisa has moved on to greener pastures. Enisa had the benefit of seeing John and Mandy’s relationship grow firsthand, and they’re so happy she’ll be a part of its biggest and best step yet!
Best Man
Matt and John met in 2005 during their freshman year at Ithaca College in upstate New York, and eventually became the bestest of friends as they realized how similar they were. “You’re also from the Philadelphia suburbs, love Batman, movie scores, Indiana Jones and the films of Christopher Nolan?” They were roommates their senior year, worked on short films and comedy sketches together, have seen hundreds of movies together, and it’s probably no coincidence that they now live less than 2 miles from each other in Los Angeles. As John put it in his Best Man speech at Matt's wedding a year ago, Matt is the Superman to John’s Batman, and it’s hard not to believe at times that they’re not sharing the same brain.
Bridesmaid
Mandy and Abbie first connected through sheer chance (or perhaps fate?) during a Freshman meet-and-greet in their dorm at Baylor University in 2011. Mandy realized she had accidentally joined the wrong group, but nevertheless quickly bonded with Abbie. It lead to a friendship filled with racing cars down Beverly Hills Drive (the one in Waco, Texas not Los Angeles), star-gazing on rooftops, and embarrassing each other with "gorgeous wars" (don't ask). Despite Mandy only spending her first year of college at Baylor before transferring to UT Austin, they've remained close ever since. Abbie joined Mandy on her drive from Texas to Los Angeles, helping her begin a new chapter of her life. And Mandy is so happy that she’ll be a part of this next one with John.
Groomsman
Alex and John met through their work at Open Road in 2011, while Alex was a junior editor and John was a Production Assistant. But their friendship began in earnest months later when John discovered via their coworker and mutual friend Charles that Alex was a big fan of the TV show Community. John proceeded to drunkenly interrogate Alex’s fandom and tell him about a Community fan art show over a late night phone call. From there, their friendship became about how similar they were in disposition and a shared career path, despite their differing backgrounds — Alex a SoCal kid and John a guy from the suburbs of Philly. Together, they've shared the highs (Avengers: Endgame) and lows (where to start?) of life and been a sounding board for one another through thick and thin.
Bridesmaid
One of the benefits of dating a guy who has been living in Los Angeles for several years before you is immersing yourself in his group of friends, and then stealing them. Such is the case with Mandy and Lindsay. They immediately clicked through a shared love of Harry Potter, Friends, and rolling their eyes at their significant others’ jokes (just kidding, John and Eric are hilarious). Beyond a friendship, they also share trips to Vegas with their "Vegas crew," a similar sense of humor, a silliness and a general vibe. Mandy is so grateful to have found a friendship that’s grown right along with her and John’s relationship.
Groomsman
John met Eric while working on Matt’s Senior Thesis film at Ithaca in 2008, but they really grew to become friends while working on comedy shorts together in Los Angeles (shout out to HW Lamb). Eric got John an interview at Open Road in 2011, and they’ve been working there together ever since, and are the two longest tenured employees at the company now (including the owners)! Besides years of commiserating about upfronts and client calls, they share a love of Spielberg films, cheat days, board games, and getting together with their Vegas crew for yearly trips to America’s playground.
Bridesmaid
Mandy has known Maggie all of her life, literally. Being Mandy's only cousin, they’ve always had much more of a sisterly connection within their small extended family. Growing up together they shared a love of acting, theater, and singing (though Mandy will be the first to admit Maggie's talent eclipses her own); and attended Irish Festivals with family, some of which Maggie performed in. They still remain close despite living on opposite coasts, jointly pining over a lack of decent Tex-Mex, and obsessing over their dogs and the latest pictures of Eli, Mandy's nephew.
Groomsman
Josh has the honor(?) of knowing John the longest among the groomsmen. They were both in Miss O’Hara’s first grade class together in 1992 at Perkiomen Valley South Elementary in Collegeville, PA. They became closer in high school as John started hanging out with a group of marching band kids (via Evan), even though John was more involved with the theater program. Many weekends were spent driving in Josh’s car to the Best Buy in King of Prussia, or playing Rock Band in their friend’s basement. Now, John is lucky that two of his closest grade-school friends in Josh and Evan both also live in LA, and that his high-school friendships have merged with his college ones.
Bridesmaid
Judy and Mandy met in sixth grade Math class at Coppell Middle School West in 2004. They instantly bonded, and discovered a shared love of manga, theater, and making up silly holidays (like Booger-and-Snot day-- again...don't ask). Together with Mandy's neighbor and childhood friend Ashleigh, they formed an unstoppable trio they appropriately self-labeled as JAM (Judy/Ashleigh/Mandy). Having recently reconnected and renewed their friendship in their adult life, Mandy is grateful to have a cherished childhood friend by her side on her wedding day.
Groomsman
Evan and John became friends in sixth grade at Perkiomen Valley Middle School in 1997. Evan had just moved to the area, and it became quickly apparent to both John and Evan that they shared a kindred oddball/nerdiness, bonding over film scores, Zelda games, and Star Wars. Over the course of middle school and high school, John spent lots of time at the Boucher household, becoming close with Evan’s brothers and father to the point he often felt like an additional member of the family. Again, John feels blessed that his closest friend through middle and high-school is just a car drive away and that they can still watch crappy movies together while eating Dino nuggs.
Bridesmaid
Mandy first spent time with John's sister Laura in 2017 on one of the famous extended family trips to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Being tasked with getting to know John's 25+ extended family members on his mother's side for the first time could have proved overwhelming, but Mandy felt supported by Laura as a burgeoning sisterly connection. She also appreciated seeing John and Laura’s relationship firsthand, and how much they relate and care about each other. Through the years, Mandy and Laura have been able to create their own special relationship (including jointly putting John in his place), and Mandy is so excited to have a new sister in Laura when she officially joins the family.
Groomsman
John is so happy that members of both his family and Mandy’s can be a part of their bridal party, in this case Mandy’s brother Michael. One of the first times John got to hang out with Michael was a trip Michael and his now-wife Kristin made to LA. Michael was super-pumped to eat and share these special fried cheeseballs he had had years before at Gordon Biersch in Burbank, only to have everyone including himself find them extremely underwhelming. Lesson learned: the memory is always better than reality. John is excited to finally have a brother (though his cousins Josh, Ben, Tim, and Eric were wonderful surrogates), and be the coolest uncle ever to Michael and Kristin’s son Eli and their upcoming baby girl who will arrive by the time of the wedding!
