Things To Do

There are SO MANY great thing to do and places to eat in the area! Here's a sampling of some of our favorites.

Sally and Bob’s

10 North Main Street, West Hartford, CT 06107

Our favorite local spot for a classic diner breakfast! Get there early; it gets super crowded after 9 am!

Small State Provisions

205 Old Farms Road, Avon, CT 06001

A MUST stop for a breakfast pastry or bread enthusiast! We go here at least once a month (usually more!) to stock up on sourdough, get coffee, and try seasonal pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and more.

Blossom Cafe

6 Wilcox Street, Simsbury, CT 06070

Asian fusion breakfast spot. Everything is delicious but you must get an order of Japanese souffle pancakes for the table!

Wabi Sabi

135 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT 06107

Japanese food beyond the sushi roll. Excellent cocktails!

Sparrow Pizza Bar

977 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06107

Casual pizza and other Italian food. The executive chef has competed on Food Network multiple times and even beaten Bobby Flay! The bar gets very lively in the evenings.

Tavern in The Square

1393 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06110

Casual sports bar with elevated bar food. Great spot for a large group, to go with families, or to watch a game!

bartaco

971 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06107

A true staple of West Hartford Center, and also where Melissa & Roberto had their first date!

The Bunker

36 LaSalle Road, West Hartford, CT 06107

Relive your college days with affordable drinks, pool tables, and a secret entrance.

Butterfly Chinese Restaurant

831 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06119

Only worth going for karaoke in the evenings but it is a very fun activity if you're into karaoke!

The Elbow Room

986 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06107

Come for a drink on the only rooftop bar in West Hartford Center! The food is average so maybe think about eating elsewhere.

Connecticut Science Center

250 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford, CT 06103

Kid-focused but interesting for adults and children alike!

Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame

1000 Hall of Fame Avenue, Springfield, MA 01105

A quick 30 minute drive, visit the Basketball Hall of Fame where basketball is celebrated at every level.

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art

125 West Bay Road, Amherst, MA 01002

The Carle is the international champion for picture book art. We collect, preserve, and present picture book art for audiences passionate about art and books. Kid-focused but enjoyable for adults too!

Mystic

Stonington, CT

A quintessential seaside New England town, and Roberto's hometown. Walk around downtown just over the drawbridge, stop by the Mystic Seaport Museum, visit the Mystic Aquarium (Roberto & his brother Paul worked here), or stroll Olde Mistick Village (all 3 Leandro brothers have worked here).

Talcott Mountain State Park

Summit Ridge Drive, Simsbury, CT 06070

Take a 2 hour hike up Talcott Mountain to the famous Heublein Tower!

Kidcity Children's Museum

119 Washington Street, Middletown, CT 06457

Kidcity is an early childhood space (recommended ages 1-7) for Pretend Play. Advanced tickets are required!
