Q & A

The Wedding Website of Mackenzie Hasse and Michael Schmidt
Question

Wedding dress code?

Answer

Formal Attire For men, we recommend classic black. For women, soft fall tones—greens, browns, pinks, burgundies, and warm neutrals—are great choices. With the crisp November weather, long dresses, suits, or tuxedos are encouraged. Don’t be shy; if you have a coat that makes a statement, this is the perfect excuse to pull it out. Please know that these are simply suggestions! There is no strict color palette. Wear whatever makes you feel your best.

Question

Welcome dinner dress code?

Answer

We want everyone to feel relaxed after traveling, so there’s no set dress code for the welcome dinner. Come as you are, or feel free to dress up with us! If you'd like a guideline, think dressy casual—but anything goes.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be held indoors?

Answer

We will be indoors for most of the evening. The ceremony and dinner will take place in a heated solarium, so you’ll be warm and comfortable during the main events. That said, cocktail hour/photos, and restroom access will take you outdoors. If the weather isn’t cooperating, feel free to warm up in Marnie’s Pavilion during cocktail hour. Throughout the night, all guests will have access and are welcome to walk the Blossom of Lights path through the gardens. This experience is fully outdoors and about a mile long. It will be late and likely quite cold, so bundle up if you plan to join!

Question

Where are the restrooms located?

Answer

The nearest restroom is located inside Marnie’s Pavilion. Please note that from 3:30–4:30 p.m., the Gardens will be under a security lockdown in preparation for Blossoms of Light. During this time—including our ceremony and group photos—guests will not be able to leave the Woodland Mosaic area to access restrooms. We kindly ask that you take children to the restroom before the ceremony, or plan to warm up and take a restroom break around 4:30 p.m. after photos conclude.

Question

Are there any extra items we need to pack?

Answer

We recommend bringing warm layers—hats, mittens, and coats—especially for the little ones, since parts of the evening will be outdoors. To help keep the space uncluttered, we kindly ask that bulky bags or extra items be stored under the tabes, or behind the Woodland Mosaic. Please note that our venue is very intimate, so the space fills quickly.

Question

Where to park and enter at the Botanic Gardens?

Answer

For convenient parking, use the main parking garage located between York and Josephine Streets. Enter this address into your GPS: 1048 York Street, Denver, CO 80206 This will take you directly to the garage, where free visitor parking is available. Street parking is also available nearby, but we recommend using the garage—especially since our ceremony starts before the garden events, so parking should be easy to find. Carpooling is encouraged for easier travel back to the hotel. Please note that overnight parking is not permitted. https://www.botanicgardens.org/york-street/parking-transportation-accessibility-york-street To enter, there is a gate to the right of the Visitor Center. There will be a staff member at this gate letting our guests in and directing them where to go.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

We are so thankful to celebrate with our family and friends who are traveling to be with us. Your presence is the greatest gift, and we will not be having a registry.
