This is a one of a kind tour which takes you through a working pineapple plantation. Definitely family-friendly!
One of the reasons February is high season in Hawaii is because it is also a great time to see whales. Their migration pattern brings them to Hawaii during this time of year. Best way to do this is to join a boat tour. The site below is one of the top rated on Tripadvisor... and it has a lot of photos with whales in them.

A popular sight in Maui is sunrise above the clouds seen at Haleakala National Park on top of a volcano at 3055 m above sea level. To get to the sumit for sunrise at 6:11 am you'll need to drive late at night up a 300+ turn narrow mountain road. The drive takes about 3.5 hours from Lahaina. If you plan to go, a sunrise viewing permit must be purchased in advance for $1.50 USD (https://www.nps.gov/hale/planyourvisit/permitsandreservations.htm) and a park pass for $25 USD.
This is a great activity to see the Maui rainforest without working too hard. This company offers a tour that is 3 - 4 hours long that takes you down a 1 mile hike to 2 waterfalls. They will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel, snacks are included. Price per person is $95, a bit expensive but a good place to start the search.
Pipiwai is one of the best hikes on the island. It has it all - waterfalls, bamboo forest, ocean views, gorgeous trees and views of the 7 sacred pools of water. The hike is easy enough to bring younger kids but it is muddy and you will get wet crossing some streams. The trail is 4 miles round trip and will take about 2 hours to complete.
