Nick and Liz met in middle school but didn't start dating until their junior year of high school after being set up by their mutual friend Jesse Fucito (Groomsmen). As most high school relationships go, Nick and Liz went their separate ways as they entered college. However, they were never far apart, remaining friends throughout college. When they could not deny what was in front of them, they rekindled their relationship. Fast forward three years, and Nick proposed to Liz after planning a romantic weekend getaway to Lake Cossayuna in New York. Their first night there, Liz and Nick decided to have a bonfire by the lake. He pulled her onto his lap and asked her to marry him. Of course, she said yes. After the shock wore off, she realized he hadn't actually gotten down on one knee, so she made him propose again. Once again, she said yes. And she'll say her third yes on October 15th.
