Celesy Shabi

Co-maid of Honor

This special lady has been in my life since elementary school. The friendship turned sisterhood has always been number one because we had unconditional support! Our middle school days were filled with laughter, even with different class schedules. We played sports, went on many class trips to Phoenix /Tucson, and had the courage to enter a dance contest haha Best memory was Faye, Jackie, Celesly and I dancing to Motownphilly “Boyz II Men”. She went to Holbrook high school, while I stayed in Sanders. But we were able to reconnect in 2005. Our love for dancing and cheering on the Suns against the Spurs brought us back together ugh Spurs!! It’s amazing to be in this thing called life with this beautiful woman! I’ll clear my schedule to hangout, because she’s my sister! Love you!

Felicia Sekaquaptewa

Co-maid of Honor

The strength this beautiful sister gives me is unmeasurable! I’m so blessed to call her family, she supports me even in the craziest of times! The loss of my siblings, true pain, but her comfort was always there! I cannot thank her enough!! Her words soak through and keep me moving. We’ve done so many running, ultras and triathlon events. When we first started biking, we went to S. Mtn. and had scraped knees at the end of it all haha I wasn’t a confident swimmer when I registered for 2015 full Ironman, but she helped me! We can get into some wild situations lol I’ve locked Brian’s keys in the car, while trying to open it, we cracked jokes the whole time. I’ve given her cinnamon tea, forgot to mention it was “detox”. Sorry sis! lol I wouldn’t be me if you weren’t in my life! Love U so much

Edwin Upshaw

Co-Best Man

There’s a lot that I can say about this guy, we’ve been best friends since we were 7, 35 years. There is no guy, other than him in the world I would trust with my life. He helped me out all my life. I didn’t feel like an outsider when I came to visit every summer to Sanders. When I came to Valley High my sophomore year, he had my back again, like always! His family treated me as family. His sisters, I call my sisters. When I moved back to Arizona 4 years ago, he helped me get about 10 different jobs and now we work together everyday, buying each other breakfast or lunch. There is nothing we do not tell each other about our lives. His children call me “uncle Brian”. MaLorie and I are proud godparents of their little one Mosely. I love this guy! He is truly the definition of a best man.

Co-Best Man

Where to start with my little brother!? It’s normal that big brothers pick on their little brothers , like putting him into a sleeping bag head first and pushing him down the stairs , but it’s rare that the big brother looks up to thier little brother. My brother has helped me out more times than I can count . My best memory of my little brother was when , me , my dad and grandpa were at his baseball game and he jacked his first and only Home run. I believe. When I needed help a few years back he was there , got me through a lot of rough times and I cannot repay him for that , so proud of him for being a State cop and putting his life on the line every day , love you bro , you are truly an inspiration to me and what you do for my kids ... there are no words.

“Getshow” Brian’s beautiful niece.

Abby Upshaw

Flower Girl

First time I met me niece Abigail, Edwin introduced me as uncle Brian and she looked at me dead in the face and said, but you’re white. Edwin came in quick and said he’s just a light skin Navajo. And now all she wants from me is skittles.

Naia Tsosie

Flower Girl

Fishing buddy at Hawley Lake. She drew me an awesome Michigan painting that’s mounted on our wall.

Coach Rick Krause

Usher

I picked my dad as an usher just in case things slow down or get backed up, he can talk your ear off, about Valley stories or whatever comes to mind. Love you dad!

Kingston Upshaw

Usher

Thank you Kingston for being an usher. You’re in charge, keep things in order and be the man that uncle Brian knows you can be.
