Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal dress code. Dresses or pantsuits for women and suits or tuxedos for gentlemen. The Yacht Club has a strict dress code and will not allow hats/caps, jeans, or other casual attire

How do I get to the Yacht Club?

Answer

When entering Belle Isle, stay to the left and proceed through the lane that says “I already have a recreation pass”. We will send all of our guests our pass to the DYC, please have this handy in case you need to show proof of your pass when entering Belle Isle. When you arrive you will check in with and be let in by security.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones, but we are requesting that this be an event for those 13+

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have a room block reserved through the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Room block pricing will be available until 8/23, so we encourage you to make your reservations as soon as possible.

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

There will be ONE shuttle ride leaving at 4pm from the hotel to the venue for our guests staying downtown. There will also be a shuttle available to bring guests back to the hotel, and there will be multiple trips.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an “Unplugged Ceremony”, and request that all phones be silenced and put away. We have hired a professional photographer and videographer to capture the day so that you all can be present in the moment with us. We would hate for a beautiful picture to be ruined by a cellphone in the shot. After the ceremony, we encourage you to take as many pictures and videos as you like!

Please make us aware of any allergies or dietary restrictions and we would be more than happy to make accommodations
