We met in September of 2020 when I came to visit one of my best friends Angel for fun in Las Vegas. (I had moved back for the time being to Washington due to COVID). Who knew this visit would lead me to meeting my future husband! Angel and I were hanging out at the house having some cocktails when this man Shaun walked into the house and introduced himself. It was an instant connection, we stayed up till 5am, just us two talking in the kitchen. Fast forward 4.5months later in January 2021, I come back for another trip to visit my now two Matron of Honors, Ande and Camille, for a snow trip when Angel found out I was in town and asked me to extend my trip. I extended my trip and stayed with her for over a week and there was a little puppy new to the house named Nala and I just couldn't say no. Shaun and I also reconnected after not talking since the last time and it was something that we couldn't ignore. We continued to talk and I continued to fly back and forth for 3months until I finally made the decision in May to move back to Las Vegas. In September of 2021 one of my bridesmaids, Courtney, wanted to celebrate her birthday in San Diego with all her friends in which Shaun and I were invited. At the time Shaun’s parents had a place out in Temecula where we decided to go a day early than everyone. When we got to Temecula we sat outside enjoying the fresh air, he turned to me and officially asked me to be his girlfriend. I will never forget driving down to San Diego to meet up with everyone and the moment we walk in the house and our closest friends found out they were yelling of just joy. In November of 2021 his sister got married and that's when I had the privilege to meet the entire family. And when I say entire family, I mean just about every single one of them. From there on out we made many trips to Monterey, Temecula and Washington just enjoying the aspects of dating. By November 2023 we had been dating for two years and my dad had just moved to South Carolina, so we decided to go and take a visit. This was by far one of the most peaceful trips and such beautiful scenery that it became a contender for us to move out there some day to live the dream of owning chickens and cows! In March of 2024 we had been invited to a family function for one of his cousins in Monterey to celebrate. We had gone back and forth deciding if it was something we could do with all our upcoming travels as well as our dogs. Ultimately, we said no and were going to stay home. Well one night over at his parents’ house, while the wine was flowing, I looked up flights for fun to see what they were priced a week before we would have to leave and surprise, they were a deal we couldn't beat and purchased them. I had convinced my mom (so I thought) to come out on this trip to celebrate her birthday but to also see the place we loved so much. We headed to Monterey, spent time with family and went to the family function where the after party was quite the after party (if you know, you know). Sunday, March 3rd we had planned to take the 17-mile drive that I hadn’t really done, and my mom hadn't done so we said perfect let’s go. It was an early start, especially coming off the night before, where his mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, my mom, him, and I all hopped in one car and proceeded to 17-mile drive. We drove on the path just taking in the views and all the beautiful homes, where we made a stop at Seal Beach. This stop wasn't our favorite as it was a little cloudy and not a very great spot for pictures. His sister saw the sun and look-out point ahead, so we all loaded up and headed that way. We got out of the car, and I remember saying "Oh this looks like a great spot for photos", so I handed my mom and his sister my phone as Shaun and I proceeded to the point. We took a photo and as we kissed, he began moving and getting down on one knee where he popped the question in a place he had always wanted to ask since he was a kid.
