Our favorite beach spot for a great sunset or morning stroll! Park for free at the Fort Moultrie parking lot! Along the way, stop for a burger or fish tacos at Poe's Tavern or try out the best gelato ever at Beard Cat's (their olive oil and sea salt gelato is to die for!)
Enjoy the ocean views and all of the old Charleston homes in the Battery Neighborhood. This park is also a Civil War coastal defense sight. It's Mallory's favorite place for a long run!
A Charleston classic! A true must see if you've never been to the city.
For those that want to do see Charleston from a "locals" view. Pitt Street bridge has the best sunset views of the ocean/harbor/downtown Charleston. It's located in Mount Pleasant and you drive through Old Village to get there - the site for where the TV show Outer Banks was filmed!
An open air market full of little trinkets and locally made items! This market is home to Matt's favorite soap company, Old Whaling Co!
A bit of a drive but another Charleston classic! The tree is estimated to be 400–500 years old. It stands 66.5 ft tall, measures 28 ft in circumference, and produces shade that covers 17,200 square feet. Its longest branch distance is 187 ft in length
Another tourist classic! Take a picture at the Pineapple Fountain at the north end of the Charleston Harbor!
Take a ferry ride to Fort Sumter to see the site of the start of the Civil War! Its origin dates to the War of 1812 when the British invaded Washington by sea. It was still incomplete in 1861 when the Battle of Fort Sumter began the American Civil War.
One of the best ways to learn about the city! Might be a bit touristy but carriage rides are always fun and you can see all the best historic sites!
Carriage tours are a great way to see the city and learn all about the unique history Charleston has to offer.
Walk and tour the USS Yorktown, along with a destroyer ship, and a submarine! Visitors can also visit the Vietnam Experience Exhibit and the Medal of Honor Museum too!
This place is the cutest cafe/coffee shop in town! It has the absolute best quiche and great coffee.
Anyone who knows Mallory knows she is a regular at this coffee spot. This coffee is simply like none other! The flavor of the day drip coffee served black is Mal's go-to order. If you go on Saturday's, the bagel food truck will ELEVATE your morning coffee experience.
Another favorite of ours! We love their drip coffee.
Best biscuit in town. That's all.
Another tourist breakfast classic - may required reservations!
Great for brunch! It is more causal, sitting on the back porch gives you all of the classic Charleston feels. The toasted ham and brie sandwich is amazing!
Sweet little cafe! Lines can be long but food and coffee is worth the wait.
For our Lexington-style BBQ fans! Rodney Scott has been on Food Network and featured on Netflix's chefs table. A true Southern style bbq joint for fans of vinegar based 'cue
This fast casual Vietnamese restaurant is walking distance from the Hyatt. The garlic noodles are AMAZING and easily one of our favorite Charleston dishes!
The best Charleston meal, hands down! They don't take reservations, so plan to wait!
Best barbecue in Charleston and a fun atmosphere! No reservations required but may be a line - it's one of the more "touristy" places to eat in town but definitely worth it. More Kansas/Texas style BBQ
The actual very best deli, super fast and casual. Check out the downtown location as well.
Like chick-fil-a, but local and better.
We love this little beach bar! We love the atmosphere and usually end our beach days with one of their burgers and a local brew!
A good greasy deli, nothing better really!
Great lunch specials! Fast and casual. They have a great charcuterie board!
Best ice cream in town. It is all made in house and they have vegan options too!
We went here to celebrate our engagement! Great Italian food, the pizza is amazing!
Incredible meal for anyone staying in North Charleston! A good twist on New York Asian style food! Plan to make reservations ahead of time.
Great atmosphere, fabulous french fries, what more could ya need?!
This is our favorite brewery! They do not serve food so bring snacks!
Great beer, pizza, and happy hour from 4-5 pm!
A hidden gem for great drinks! This is the bar we went to to celebrate our engagement. Only locals know about this spot!
Great cocktails in an even better atmosphere!
We love Palmetto for a casual beer! Lots of space to mingle and hang out with friends!
