Matt and Mallory met on the third night of college at a CollegeLife kickoff party! Matt was starting his junior year and was a leader in the campus christian ministry while Mallory was just starting at HPU as a freshman. After just their first interaction, Mallory walked away with some of her new friends and said "I'll marry that boy some day!" Matthew stayed completely oblivious to the obvious interest that Mallory was showing throughout the year, however, their friendship continued to grow while studying almost daily for anatomy class together with other friends. They spent looooong nights in study rooms reviewing science things, something we still do to this day! After taking way too long to realize how incredible Mallory was, Matt asked her out! What started as unofficial first dates at a local Mipso concert and official first dates at a coffee shop in Winston-Salem, grew into long distance relationships in two different cities for graduate school. After over five years of dating, we now finally live in the same city, where Mallory is finishing her doctorate in occupational therapy and Matt works as a pharmacy resident at MUSC Health. We have dated for the last five and a half years and our relationship has grown and changed SO much. At this point, we are just so thankful the Lord blessed us with the ability to live in the same city again. We are looking forward to marriage and all life has to bring! So thankful for the nights of anatomy studying that turned into years with my very best friend. Cheers to more conversations about science and hopefully less long nights spent in the library!
