For a classic Kentucky experience, consider visiting one of the nearby world-famous distilleries! Woodford Reserve, Castle & Key, Four Roses, and Buffalo Trace are all within about a 40-minute drive from downtown Lexington — and conveniently on the way in for many out-of-town guests. You can’t go wrong with a visit, tour, or tasting.
A Lexington landmark known for its world-class horse racing and historic charm. While races aren’t running this time of year, the grounds are open to visitors year-round. Stop by to tour the beautifully kept property, explore the paddock, and experience a true piece of Kentucky’s horse country heritage.
One of our favorite places to enjoy a walk and get some time outside. It's the perfect activity for Saturday morning!
A great destination for shopping with several dining options!
A great spot for families and larger groups to gather. Goodfellas is our favorite pizza in town, and Crank & Boom is always a hit for ice cream. There are several options to grab a drink as well!
For breakfast or brunch, we recommend Josie’s, Windy Corner, and Zim’s Café. For casual dining, some of our favorites are Vinaigrette Salad Kitchen, Local Taco, Drake’s, and Bourbon n’ Toulouse. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more upscale, we love Italx, Carson’s on Main, Corta Lima, and Malone’s. A full list of local favorites is included below!
While there are plenty of great spots to grab a drink downtown, a few of our favorites include Centro, Belle’s Cocktail House, Stagger Inn, McCarthy’s Irish Bar, and The Grove @ Harvey’s Bar. If you’re in the mood for a brewery, we recommend Country Boy or Mirror Twin. See a full guide below!
