Things To Do

But mostly, places to eat. If you're staying in the hotel and looking to explore, I recommend walking towards Midtown. If you exit the hotel facing the iconic Fox Theatre across the street, turn right to walk down Peachtree Street. Almost anything you'd ever need is within a few blocks, including a Starbucks Reserve, Einstein's bagels, CVS, QT convenience store, and any type of restaurant.

A local favorite! David loves the $2 "House Beer" (it's actually Sweetwater IPA, but we didn't tell you that....), and the sweet potato nachos are to die for. *Within walking distance*

La Fonda Latina

La Fonda Latina

1025 Howell Mill Road Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30318
, (404) 249-2272

The most incredible Mexican food and definitely one of the best margaritas in Atlanta. We are not accepting any arguments otherwise.

Atwoods Pizza Cafe

Atwoods Pizza Cafe

817 West Peachtree Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30308

Atwood's is owned by the same guy that owns Cypress, so in our eyes, this guy can do no wrong. *Within walking distance*

Mary Mac's Tea Room

Mary Mac's Tea Room

224 Ponce De Leon Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30308

An Atlanta institution for southern cooking. There's always a wait, so we recommend going early! *Within walking distance*

The Atlanta Beltline

The Atlanta Beltline

Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail, Atlanta, GA 30312

This urban trail became popular in our later years at Georgia Tech and connects Piedmont Park to Krog Street Market (another favorite of ours) and beyond. Get your steps in while taking in local art and views of the city. Shops, restaurants, and breweries line the path so you definitely won't get bored, no matter what you're interested in. *Within walking distance... if you've got your tennis shoes*

Café Intermezzo - Midtown

Café Intermezzo - Midtown

1065 Peachtree Street Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30309
, (404) 355-0411

This French-inspired cafe is a local favorite for their extensive coffee menu and absolutely incredible dessert case. Their cheesecakes and cake slices are to die for. Their food is great too! *Within walking distance*

Emerald City Bagels

Emerald City Bagels

1257A Glenwood Avenue Southeast, Atlanta, GA 30316
, (404) 343-3758

Potentially the BEST bagel we both have ever had. Simply order ahead online, show up at the time in your confirmation email, wait for your name to be called, and finally, commence bagel bliss. You're welcome.

Thumbs Up Diner

Thumbs Up Diner

826 Marietta Street NorthWest, Atlanta, GA 30318
, (404) 745-4233

Some people like the iconic Silver Skillet, but Thumbs Up is our go-to hole in the wall spot for breakfast (if we're not craving Chick-fil-a, of course). Make sure to get there early to avoid waiting, and bring cash because they don't take credit or debit cards.

Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park

12th Street and Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30306

We love taking walks and runs through this ginormous park. Check out the Saturday morning farmer's market for food trucks and stalls from Atlanta locals - be on the lookout for our favorite, the fresh bagels and cream cheese. *Within walking distance... if you've got your tennis shoes*

Krog Street Market

Krog Street Market

99 Krog Street Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307

Our favorite food hall in the city! Among other delicious options, Fred's Meat and Bread has THE BEST burger we've ever had. We have an ongoing debate whether the burger or the Philly is the better option, but you can't go wrong with either.

Orpheus Brewing

Orpheus Brewing

1440 Dutch Valley Place Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30324
, (404) 347-1777

We loved spending time at breweries during our time at Georgia Tech, and we loved this one especially because it overlooks Piedmont park and it's home of our favorite local beer - Atalanta. Not into sours and IPAs? Other popular hometown breweries we love are Sweetwater, Monday Night Brewing, and Three Taverns.

Arden's Garden

Arden's Garden

985 Monroe Drive Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30308
, (404) 817-6624

The best smoothie or juice you'll ever have, we promise. Need a recipe? Our favorite is apple juice base with peaches, raspberries, and blackberries.

World of Coca-Cola

World of Coca-Cola

121 Baker Street Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30313
, (404) 676-5151

Coca-Cola's headquarters is located in Atlanta, just across the street from Georgia Tech's campus. The World of Coke is a fun spot for the whole family to visit to take in the history behind the drink and brand. At the very end of the tour, you'll get to try all the Coke products from around the world!

Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame

Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame

250 Marietta Street NorthWest, Atlanta, GA 30313
, (404) 880-4800

Nothing says "the South" quite like the college football tradition. Immerse yourself in the history and culture of the sport that started our relationship. ;)
