We love you and your kids, we really do! This specific resort is not a family-friendly therefore our wedding day and all surrounding events will be adults-only.
Yes. You will need a passport and it needs to be valid 6 months beyond your date of return. Please keep in mind there was a huge back-up in renewing and registering for passports so if you will need to do either of those start early!
Planning a wedding is already difficult, planning a wedding and trying to pretend like we have any idea what COVID regulations look like is even more difficult. For that reason, we have decided to just go with what feels right and hope for the best. Our hope is that come October 2022 COVID19 will be a distant memory, but, we would be happy if travel restrictions remained as they are when this was all planned and written! Since this was written some COVID restrictions have lifted, as of June, 2022 the resort does not require masks unless you are approaching a restaurant buffet, they do provide hand sanitizer at many locations. Additionally, as of June, 2022, negative COVID tests are no longer required to re-enter the United States. Lastly, bring at least one disposable mask with you, upon departure the airport may require you to wear a mask until you have boarded your flight, we found there was some leeway with this but an angry airport agent was pretty insistant on masks through security!
Let us know! We would be happy to try and pair you up with another guest who is traveling solo so you can take advantage of the double occupancy rate the hotel offers!
Honestly, we aren't sure it just feels right! We had initially started our planning in St. Simons Island, Georgia where we have been lucky enough to spend substantial time over the past few summers and absolutely fell in love but logistically when looking at a true destination wedding (like Mexico) or making Southern Georgia work it just seemed obvious. Since writing this we have visited the resort -- it is AWESOME! We definitely made the right choice! We hope you can make it and fall just as in love with it as we did!
Ahhhh, a person after my own (Samantha's) heart! Our recommendation is to utilize Justin, our cost-free travel agent, he should be able to get you the best room rate and help look for flights. Justin can't utilize points or anything like that but he can help you find the best deals and then point you in the right direction to book. Or he can book directly for you! And while Justin Mallette is probably equally as adept at strategically planning your trip, we don't mean him, but instead Justin at Beach Bum Vacations – you can find his info on "The Destination" page!
Let us know! Your reservation won't automatically be added to our guest list so be sure to give us a shout so we can get your reservation added and keep our guest count accurate!
We would appreciate it if our ceremony is unplugged and you allow our photographer and videographer to capture their best work without your iPhone in the shot! We will be happy to share photos and video after the event! Cocktail hour and the reception are, of course fair game!
The resort's dress code varies by location and activity and ranges from bathing suits to "casual elegance". They are 100% serious on what they say. Men need to bring a pair of pants. Restaurants, even by the pool, won't seat you wet or in just a bathing suit, you need some sort of cover-up (for women shorts over a bathing suit seems to work, for men a shirt with trunks did the trick). Make sure you have a look at the dress code when packing. For our wedding events the dress code varies -- our welcome party is a more casual affair while our wedding, cocktail hour, and reception are a more formal affair. Check out the "schedule" page for more details on each event's dress code.
You need a shuttle! The hotel provides some options but if you reservation doesn't include transportation we recommend a Google search. Happy Shuttle Cancun and Nexus Tours seem to be good options! Also, consider a private transfer, you can group together 6 people usually. If you are interested in a private shuttle but need a group to join reach out and let us know -- we will try to link you up with people who have a similar itinerary!
