If you already know that you will not be able to attend, we would so appreciate knowing that right away for planning purposes. If that is the case, please email us at malinowski2021@gmail.com. Otherwise, the latest RSVP date will be March 15, 2021.
Your safety and health are important to us, so we are taking extra precautions during the wedding weekend. Hawkesdene is an outdoor wedding venue allowing plenty of space to spread out. The culinary team will be wearing masks and gloves at all times. Cottages are cleaned daily by staff but can be deferred to avoid additional people entering your room. Hand sanitizer will be plentiful. We urge you to refrain from traveling to the wedding if you're experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or if you've come into contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, 14 days prior to arrival. Lastly if you still feel uncomfortable attending given the precautions we will be taking, please refrain from attending and know you will be dearly missed. With the uncertainty of COVID-19 restrictions it's a possibility we may have to reduce the number of guests. We hope this will not be the case, but if anything regarding our wedding plans change, we will be sure to post updates here.
We will be getting married on April 17th regardless of the situation! Of course as we get closer we will evaluate the situation and what is best for our guests' health and safety. We will not cancel the wedding but could possibly reduce the guest size to the appropriate amount. Currently we are seeing a decrease in infection rates, hospitalizations, and number of cases as well as more vaccines distributed, and we hope this trend continues. We appreciate your understanding with these difficult decisions.
We intentionally picked this venue with COVID-19 in mind. Since all activities except breakfast and lunch will be outside, we feel that there is sufficient room to safely social distance. However, we will kindly ask our guests to wear masks during times we feel are more critical or are more difficult to social distance. Two of these times will be during the ceremony, and at the reception when you are getting your food from the buffet. We trust that our guests will use their best judgement and be mindful of the health and safety of those around them.
If you have to cancel because of COVID-19 impacts or concerns, or any other reason, we completely understand and trust you are making the best decision for yourself and your family. We ask that you do the best you can to make a decision by our requested RSVP date, March 15th. However, if something changes in last weeks before the wedding, please be sure to email us at malinowski2021@gmail.com to let us know as soon as possible. Thank you!
In Andrews, NC in April the high is typically 70 degrees with a low of 40 degrees. We expect the mornings and evenings to be chilly to cold, and the afternoons to be warm. Therefore, we suggest packing layers to accommodate the fluctuation in temperature, and maybe a rain jacket in case it rains (we sure hope not!). The Welcome dinner, Wedding Ceremony and Reception will all be outdoors.
You can arrive as early as 2pm on Friday, but no later than 5pm to be sure you are on time for the Welcome Dinner! Check-out of the cottages is at 11am on Sunday, but you're welcome to still enjoy the property for several hours afterwards.
The property is nestled in the mountains, so the terrain is uneven and soft. For the wedding ceremony and reception, we would suggest wedges, block heels, flats, or other sturdy shoes. For all other times, we would suggest sandals or sneakers - whatever you're comfortable in!
Yes, there is parking on site both by the cottages and the main house.
Yes, the culinary team at Hawkesdene is experienced in accommodating all dietary restrictions and preferences. Please make sure to notify us of your special request via email or on your RSVP. Additionally, the culinary team would be happy to meet with you upon your arrival to review the weekend menus.
