A Baked Joint is hands down the best breakfast place in D.C. We make a point to grab breakfast at least once EVERY time we're in D.C. The loaded biscuits are incredible and the coffee is great too!
This is one of our favorite Smithsonian museums. Erik loves to geek out here and it's a great place to spend an afternoon.
El Centro is our favorite Mexican restaurant in D.C.! They make table-side guacamole, which Malinda loves because she can easily get it with no cilantro! Erik can't get enough of their tacos and margs!
This is one of the newest Smithsonian museums. It covers the history of African American music, art, theater, television, movies, sports and the history of slavery in the United States. You can keep it light and just enjoy the culture section upstairs, or venture downstairs for some heavier history.
The Red Hen is one of our favorite nicer restaurants in DC. We've stayed in the Bloomingdale neighborhood many times over the years that we've been visiting DC regularly, and The Red Hen is a great spot. The cocktails are excellent and the whipped ricotta crostini is delightful. If you're looking for a nice night out Friday night, we highly recommend checking out The Red Hen.
The Nats play in the same neighborhood that District Winery is located in.
Founding Farmers is a classic D.C. restaurant. It's a great place to grab dinner or brunch.
The Next Whiskey Bar is one of Erik's favorite cocktail bars in D.C. It's located in the Watergate hotel, which always feels fun and scandalous to visit. Malinda has gotten into bourbon with her pandemic cocktail-making hobby and can't wait to try more of the cocktails once we're able to travel to D.C. again.
Compass Coffee is Erik's favorite local DC coffee chain. It's a great alternative to Starbucks. It's owned by two former Marines and the cold brew is great. They have locations all over the city.
