Button Bay State Park is located on the shores of Lake Champlain. The 236-acre combined day-use, campground and nature center are located on Button Bay offering spectacular views across the lake and of the Adirondack Mountains to the west. Come explore beautiful walking trails.

About 45 minutes north of Basin Harbor, Burlington is the perfect nearby “city” to explore. Wander along Church Street, a vibrant pedestrian area full of unique shops, delicious restaurants, and a lively local vibe. Don’t miss the waterfront trails, the ECHO Science Center, and seasonal festivals. If you make it to Burlington, we also recommend grabbing a drink at Spot on the Dock, a waterfront restaurant with beautiful lake views.
A sweet stop about a little over an hour from Basin Harbor, the Ben & Jerry’s Factory in Waterbury is a fun and quirky outing. Take a guided tour to learn how their iconic ice cream is made, sample new flavors, and visit the famous Flavor Graveyard
Located about an hour and 15 minutes from Basin Harbor, Camel’s Hump is one of Vermont’s most iconic peaks and offers a rewarding challenge. The trail to the summit is steep and rugged in parts, but the panoramic views from the top, stretching across the Green Mountains and Lake Champlain, are absolutely worth the effort.
Stowe is a charming mountain town about an hour and a half from Basin Harbor and a favorite winter getaway for Malina—but it’s just as delightful in the summer. The village is filled with cute shops, cafés, and local art spots that are perfect for wandering. If you’re in the mood to relax, treat yourself to a spa day at Topnotch Resort, and wrap up your visit with a cozy dinner at one of the town’s many great restaurants, Piecasso was always a great stop on the way home from the mountain.
