Just a few steps from our venue, Time Out Market New York is one of the best ways to sample some of NYC’s top eateries all in one place. Grab a bite, take in the incredible skyline views, then hop on the NYC Ferry to Wall Street for an unbeatable view of the city from the water.
Bubby’s is our favorite breakfast and brunch spot in the city. The biscuits are truly to die for, so grab a coffee beforehand and be prepared for a bit of a line on Saturday, it is always worth the wait. After a delicious comfort meal, check out the vintage photo booth downstairs, then take citi-bike ride over to Little Island.
Amsterdam Billiards is where it all started, aka the site of our very first date. Come for the pool, stay for the drinks, and try not to take the trash talk too seriously.
Record Room is our go to Saturday night outing when we want to dance to great music played on vinyl with a good drink in hand. It is the perfect grown and sexy vibe, no fake IDs in sight, just good music, good drinks, and a great time.
The Museum of Modern Art is Malikah’s favorite museum in the city. As an art historian, she could happily wander these galleries for hours, so it is the perfect spot to slow down, get inspired, and soak up some world-class art.
If you have ever grabbed a drink with Malikah and Hakeem, there is a good chance it was at Patent Pending, our favorite speakeasy in the city. The vibes are immaculate, the cocktails never miss, and Malikah swears by the Current and Coils while Hakeem recommends the Light Me Up.
The Met is Hakeem’s favorite museum in the city, thanks to its extensive Egyptian collection and incredible Surrealist works. It is the kind of place you can wander forever and still feel like you have only scratched the surface, and after soaking in the art, it is the perfect time to head outside and enjoy Central Park.
Sorate is our favorite Japanese matcha house in the city, officially crowned after weekly Sunday matcha dates and testing almost every other spot out there. Trust us, the matcha is elite and very much worth the stop, and after you grab one, head over to Kith to pick up some swag a few steps away in Soho.
Le Baobab Harlem is a Senegalese West African gem and our go to spot for jollof in the city. Between Malikah’s Senegalese heritage and Hakeem’s Nigerian heritage, trust us when we say this is the best jollof in New York City. It is mostly a takeout spot with limited seating, so plan to grab and go.
