FAQs

We are so excited to celebrate with you and want to make the weekend as smooth and fun as possible. Below are a few frequently asked questions to help you plan, and if you are still unsure about anything, we are happy to help.
Question

Is this a kid-friendly wedding?

Answer

While we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives you a chance to relax, celebrate, and enjoy the day with us. We are keeping our wedding intentionally small and intimate, so we are only able to welcome those named on the invitation. Thank you for celebrating us and understanding.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal and festive. Think polished, elevated, and celebration ready. For example, suits or sport coats, dress shirts, cocktail dresses, midi or maxi dresses, and dressy shoes all fit the vibe.

Question

What time does the ceremony start?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:15 AM. We recommend arriving a bit early so you can get settled and enjoy the moment with us. Guests who arrive after the ceremony has started will be asked to wait until it concludes before joining the celebration.

Question

Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We are asking for a fully unplugged ceremony. Phones away, please. We are investing in a very talented photographer who will capture everything beautifully, and we want our vows to stay sacred and off the internet.

Question

Do you have a hotel room block for guests?

Answer

Because our wedding is a small, intimate celebration, many hotels were unfortunately unable to accommodate a room block for a group of our size. As an alternative, we’ve listed several nearby hotel options on the Travel section of our website to help make planning your stay a little easier. We recommend booking early if you plan to stay overnight.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Due to the intimate nature of our celebration, we’re only able to accommodate the guests who are listed on the invitation. Unfortunately, we are not able to extend additional plus-ones beyond those included on the invite. Thank you so much for understanding and for celebrating with us.

Question

Can I bring a guest to the after party?

Answer

Yes! Additional guests are welcome to join us for the after party, even if they were not invited to the ceremony or reception.

Question

Will there be a religious ceremony?

Answer

This is a small, intimate wedding without a specific religious presence. The focus is on us, our commitment, and celebrating with the people we love.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Celestine is located at 1 John Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn and is easy to reach by subway or ferry. Subway: Take the A or C train to High St–Brooklyn Bridge or the F train to York St. From either stop, it is about a 5–10 minute walk toward the waterfront. Ferry: The NYC Ferry (East River route) stops at DUMBO / Fulton Ferry, which is just a short walk from the venue and offers some of the best views of the city along the way.

Question

Do you have a wedding registry?

Answer

Yes! Instead of a traditional registry, we’ve created two monetary registries to help support our honeymoon and our home. We recently purchased a home ourselves, off the muscle, and would truly appreciate any support as we continue turning our house into a home. Thank you so much for celebrating with us and for any contribution you choose to make.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, the ceremony and reception will feature an open bar for 21+ guests to enjoy. The after-party will have a cash bar, so you can keep the celebration going with drinks available for purchase.
