What Happens at a Wedding of Jehovah’s Witnesses?

What’s the best airport to use?

Answer

Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) is the closest airport. The hotels will be easily accessible from FLL via hotel shuttle, taxi, rental car and Uber/Lyft. The distance between the airport and the Kingdom Hall is about 25-30 minutes.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be indoors. The cocktail hour will be outside by the reception patio/deck area.

What is the weather and climate like in South FL?

Answer

In June, South Florida experiences hot and humid weather. Temperatures typically range from 76°F to 93°F. Expect high humidity and some rainy days during the month. We highly encourage our guests to bring a pair of sunglasses, an umbrella, sunscreen and a fan so they can comfortably enjoy the Wedding and be protected from rain and/or sun.

Any lodging recommendations?

Answer

We have reserved a block of rooms for our wedding guests at two Hotels: 1) Hyatt Place 2) Courtyard To take advantage of the special rate, please book your accommodations exclusively through our block. You can find the link and some Airbnb recommendations through our website under the "Travel" tab.

What time does the wedding ceremony start?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4pm. We do advise that all those attending please arrive 30 minutes beforehand to avoid interruption of the Wedding Party and Ceremony.

May I bring a plus one?

Due to limited capacity, please check with the couple first before coming with another guest. Thank you for your understanding!

Will there be parking at the ceremony and reception hall?

Answer

Yes there will be parking at the Ceremony. For the Reception, there is a $3 gate entrance fee per vehicle.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is formal. Our aim is to have an event that brings honor and glory to our God Jehovah, we heed the Bible’s advice at 1 Peter 3:3,4 to be modest in dress. We please ask all guests to dress in a modest way - not too revealing or too tight. Thank you!

Will I be able to take pictures at the ceremony & reception?

Answer

As this is a very special day, we do ask as you take pictures to please be respectful of the photographers while they capture pictures.

Will there be a time gap between your Wedding Ceremony and Reception?

Answer

A 60-minute cocktail hour will take place after the Ceremony. It will be on the outside deck area of the Reception where you can enjoy small bites, non-alcoholic beverages, photos, and fun activities.
