It definitely wasn’t love at first sight. We like to call it "love at third sight," because it took exactly three dates for us to realize we’d found the one. In 2020, our paths finally crossed in Dallas. One of us had just moved there for a promotion, while the other had been there for years—possibly just waiting for the other to arrive. A few months after the move, a roommate-orchestrated double date brought us together (shoutout to Cody Funk for the assist). While there was a little initial reluctance to go on a blind date, it ended up being the best decision we ever made. That first night led to a second double date a week later, where the jokes started landing and the sparks really started flying. We ended the evening back in Uptown, where things got refreshingly honest. Trent boldly asked if the interest was mutual; the answer was a cautious "I’m not looking for anything serious." Thankfully, persistence (and snacks) won out. A few days later, Trent suggested a "wine and cheese night." The expectation was cheddar slices and Ritz crackers, but the reality was a full-blown, gourmet charcuterie board with the "nice" cheeses and perfectly paired wine. We spent hours talking and laughing, and by the next morning, the "nothing serious" plan was officially out the window. We knew then that this was it. Fast-forward to November 23, 2024. After four years of building a life together, Trent proposed at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, surrounded by our immediate families. It was the perfect start to our next chapter. We feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by family and friends who have shaped our story and supported us every step of the way. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all on September 19, 2026!
