Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

With Mother Natures (and Grandma Penny’s) blessing, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors. Dinner and dancing will be inside.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The short answer to this question is, no there is not a dress code. Our requested attire style is "garden party". Please take into consideration that our wedding will be at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center in October. Dresses with long sleeves or sweaters are recommended as well as shoes that can be worn in the grass. We will have a night of dancing and fun indoors after the ceremony as well! Most of all please remember to be comfortable as we want to see everyone having the best time.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We realize that many people are traveling from near and far to celebrate our day! Please see the information attatched to our invitations about our room block at the Holiday Inn hotel. Please be sure to reserve your room by Sept….. date to be included in the special room prices. Under the "TRAVEL" tab you will find other options of cool places to stay around our area!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space at the venue we have reserved the perfect number of seats to include all of our favorite people. Your invitation will indicate whether we have allocated a plus one for you! We are excited to spend our best day yet with all of our closest friends and family!

Are kiddos invited?

Answer

As most of you know, we love kids! If your invitation includes your child’s name then we have a reserved a special seat for them! If you are in need of recommendations for a babysitter please reach out and I can assist!

Will there be parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! CBEC has a spacious parking lot located next to the ceremony and reception space. Once you turn on Discovery Ln, enjoy the scenic drive back to the space! Please know that during high tide this road will sometimes flood and it is a gravel drive. Please drive slow and make choices for vehicles accordingly! There are a limited number of Uber/ ride share options available on the island. If this is something you might want to use please let us know and we can help arrange options!

Do I have to bring a gift?

Answer

No! Your presence at our special day and the commitments you are making to be here for us is invaluable and we are so appreciative. If you choose to bless us with a gift, we have a registry of things that would be helpful to us as we transition into married life. There are also funds that you can contribute to since we have lived together and have most of the newly wed beginning things.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Answer

Please let us know via your RSVP if you have a dietary restriction as soon as possible. We will have gluten free options available for every meal but we will do everything in our power to make sure that each of our guests have something available to them!

How late will the party be going?

Answer

We are so excited to party with all of our favorite people! Our reception will end at approximately 9:30 PM as all guests have to leave the venue by 10:00 PM. We will be having an after party at the Jetty for guests who would like to continue celebrating the evening. So that those who don’t like to stay out late won’t miss out on anything, we will be having a grand exit from our ceremony instead of the reception! This way, if you aren’t a party dancer, you won’t miss anything if you choose to leave before the evening is over!
