We're getting married!

It all started when Michael and Makena both attended Upper Columbia Academy for high school in 2017, Michael as a junior and Makena as a freshman. Though they were just acquaintances, Makena noticed Michael was very friendly and good at all sports he played. Nothing more than a few friendly exchanges occurred between them while in high school. Fast forward to college at Walla Walla University in the beginning of 2023 - Michael and Makena are both newly single, and fate (aka Maddie Wiggins) brought them together. Michael's lifelong friend and housemate, Davis, was dating Makena's lifelong best friend Maddie. As Makena started to spend more time with the group, Davis and Maddie slowly began to disappear - leaving Makena & Michael with lots of time to spend getting to know each other. They figured out just how much they had in common, including the exact same sense of humor. One thing led to another and after almost two fun and exciting years and two dogs (aka their children - Belly and Archie) Michael popped the question at Makena Beach on Maui on December 17, 2024. Considering how indecisive Makena is, she stated "saying yes was by far the easiest decision of my life."
